League Rules:

• There will be at least 1 game scheduled each week for this league using a designated Dixie Littles field. Coaches can schedule practices with Lancaster Dixie Baseball based on availability.
• Each team can have up to 5 total coaches; 4 on the field and 1 in the dugout. All coaches and parents on the field will be required to have a background check.
• All batters and base runners are required to wear helmets with ear flaps.
• The Home Team will be responsible for supplying an adjustable tee, bases, and the game ball. The Home Team is also be responsible for getting this equipment back to the applicable storage area at the end of each game. Lancaster Dixie Baseball will supply tees, balls, and bases.
• Each game will consist of 3 innings or a 1 hour time limit (whichever come first). Teams will be able to complete an inning if is has already started within the timeframe.
• Each team will be granted a 5 minute warmup period before the start of each game.
• While players are batting coaches will be permitted to assist batters by adjusting their hands, the tee, player position, etc. to help each player learn through this process. However, each player must contact the ball on their own.
• Balls in play that are not hit past the arc in front of home plate will be considered foul.
• Each player will get 5 swings to put the ball into play off the tee.
• Play will stop once the ball is secure in the infield or the ball becomes dead (umpire's discretion).
• Base runners can only advance 1 base on overthrown balls.
• Each team must have 8 players to play and every player must field and bat each inning regardless of defensive effectiveness. Once each player has batted for a particular team that portion of the inning is over.
• Each coach must provide a lineup card and they will be required to adhere to the same lineup throughout the entire game. If a player arrives late to the game they can be inserted at the bottom of the lineup.
• Coaches must teach their players not to throw their bats since there will not be any catchers in this league.
• Umpires will be assigned by Lancaster Dixie Baseball and all calls made on the field will be honored. If there is a question regarding the ruling made on the field the coach can call time to receive clarification.
• The game schedule will be posted on the Lancaster Dixie Baseball website and coaches can check the home page for updates regarding inclement weather.
