11U Raiders' bats explode as they grab 1st place hardware in Naperville's Firecracker Classic...

The boys played great in Naperville this weekend going 4-1 and capturing 1st place in the Firecracker Classic.  After taking out the top seeded Palatine Pitbulls 13-0, Winiecki's dynamite pitching and Rock's bomb to left center sealed the deal against a tough Top Tier - Red team in the final.  Great weekend boys...

Twice as nice!!!

11U Raiders successfully defend title at the Aurora City of Lights Tourney...

The boys played flawless baseball going 6-0 in Aurora last weekend.  Yet another great tournament hosted by Scott Everhart, Russ Huggins and the Aurora Stars.  The Raiders outscored their opponents by a whopping 60-10 margin over 6 games.  After going 3-0 in pool play, Jake Amen's bat carried the boys through the first two games on Sunday setting up a championship game against a very tough Norwood Park team.  Excellent pitching by Miller, Winiecki, Rock, Bailey and Nuccio was backed up by incredible defense, highlighted by a sweet 6-4-3, Digiovanni - Curcio - Smith double play.  A nail biting 6th inning ended in 3-2 Raider victory.  Great job boys.. this title is well deserved!!!

Raiders take 2nd, but the Moms are #1

at the East Side Rumble...

The Raider boys fought hard, but lost in the Championship game to a very good Lake County Lightning team.  The moms didn't mind though as the boys surprised them with with roses for Mother's Day.  Nice effort team...

11U Raiders kick off the season

with come from behind win in Lisle...

The boys battled hard in the season opener against a very good Lisle Wolves team.  Despite losing "Flash" Rock to an "upper body injury" early in the game, the Raider boys were able to come from behind in the final frame.  Excellent defense, including two perfectly executed rundowns, was critical in keeping the score within reach.  Nuccio, DiGiovanni, Rains, Winiecki, Curcio and Smith all reached base in the 6th inning to push across 4 runs to take the lead 8-5.  Nuccio then came in to close it out with a 1-2-3 inning.  Great win boys...
