The date for the 2009 Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run will be Saturday July 11, 2009. The event will start at 7:30 am (low tide at 7:24 am).

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 2008 Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run. It was a beautiful day and we hope that everyone had a great walk or run.

Our apologies to those of you who had a long wait at the restrooms at the start and a long wait for the shuttle bus. We are working on solutions to these issues for next year.

2009 marks the 40th running of the Rock to Pier Fun Run. The run/walk is approx. 6 miles in length and takes place on the hard packed sand from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. We welcome people of all ages and fitness levels to participate. Please leave your dogs at home, the beach is home to the Snowy Plover (endangered bird). In 2003, Brian Waterbury, one of the founders of the Rock to Pier Run passed away. In honor of Brian and his contribution to running community, the Morro Bay Recreation and Parks Department renamed the event. To learn more about Brian Waterbury, please see handouts.
The race will begin at 7:30 am.
Registration

Registration will begin on May 11, 2009. There are three ways that you may register--online, by mail or in person.

Mail In Registration
May 11, 2009
Mail in Registration will be begin Monday May 11, 2009 available until Friday July 3, 2009. Please send your completed registration form and payment to:

Please allow ample time for your registration to arrive. If we do not have your registration form, you will be required to complete a new form and pay to participate on race day. We will return your check if it arrives.
Walk-in Registration
Walk-in Registration will be available from Monday, May 11, 2009 to Friday, July 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm. Our regular office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Friday, July 10, 2009 we will be holding registration and packet pick-up from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Walk-in registration will be held at the Morro Bay Community Center, 1001 Kennedy Way, Morro Bay.
Race Day Registration
July 11, 2009 - 06:30 AM
Race Day Registration will take place from 6:30 am to 7:15 am at Morro Rock Parking Lot on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Please note that registration fees will increase by $10 on race day.
