Hornets' Baseball Winter Training Program Registration Now Open
The Green Hornets' baseball program is offering indoor winter training in January and February to prepare players for the upcoming spring tournament team and club evaluations. The training will be conducted at the BATT Academy's facility in Glen Burnie. Instruction will be given by both the professional BATT Academy staff and Hornet tournament team coaches. Fall Baseball Clinics Had Nearly 1000 Participants

Over the last two months, nearly 1000 players attended our six Fall Friday Instructional Clinics. That translated into close to 1400 hours of instruction on basic baseball skills given to our young Green Hornets' players. We were fortunate to have an outstanding list of guest instructors this year- US Naval Academy, BATT Academy, API, Frozen Ropes, Al Bumbry, Scotty McGregor, Larry Sheets, Eric Milton and Joe Mayer. The quality of instruction should pay dividends next spring. Also congratulations to Matthew Heuer and Mark Sanders who won twelve free spring training sessions at API. 2008 Ripken Two Day Winter Camp

Ripken has paired up with Athletic Performance Inc (API) to offer a two day winter camp on December 6/7 in the new indoor Athletic Center at the Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn. The mini camp is for 9 through 15 year olds and will be capped at 100 athletes. Ripken Baseball will be providing 10 coaches for a 1:10 player coach ration. US Naval Academy Coaches and Midshipmen Instruct at the Oct 10 Clinic
The USNA baseball coaching staff and midshipmen were the guest instructors at the October 10th clinic. Over 170 Green Hornet baseball players attended the Friday evening sessions. See article from the Severna Park Voice under the Newspaper Articles link.

The Naval Academy is offering Spring preseason semi-private hitting and pitching development lessons in January and February. Last year the sessions were quickly sold out with Severna Park players taking most of the limited slots.
Orioles All-Star Pitcher Scotty McGregor Talks to Players

Orioles All-Star and World Series pitcher Scotty McGregor talked to the Hornet baseball players at the October 3 clinic. He told stories about his exploits as a major league pitchers, answered questions and sign autographs for both the players and parents.
Maryland State Champions- 8U "A" Tournament Team
July 17, 2008
The 8U "A" Tournament Team captured the Ripken Maryland State Championship on Wednesday evening. They came from behind in the last inning to defeat Upper Montgomery Athletic Club (UMAC) 6-4 at Rockburn Park in Elkridge. The team defeated host Elkridge in the semifinals to advance to the state championship. The team has won 27 straight to include their last three tournaments- Essex Express Baseball Father's Day, UMAC and Linthicum-Ferndale. Congratulations to the players, coach Todd Frady and his assistants!!!
