ELROSA FALLS TO GROVERS 4-2

                    (Jackson Peter collects 2 hits!)

MEIRE GROVE--The Elrosa Saints found their hitting shoes on Sunday doubling their season hit total but also committed four errors in what turned out to be the difference in a 4-2 Stearns County League loss. The Navy Nine took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when they punched runs across on RBIs from Gavin Kampsen and Derek Wiener. The lead would be short lived however as the Grovers answered with a run apiece in each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings. Half of the runs were unearned as Meire Grove took advantage of Elrosa defensive miscues. Ethan Vogt started on the mound and threw five inings of three hit ball including six strikeouts. Wyatt Steffensen was the hard luck loser on the hill for the Boys in Blue as the right hander struck out one and walked two while scattering three hits. Jackson Peter and Brandon Roelike each knocked out two hits against Grover pitcher Matt Imdieke who earned the complete game victory. The Saints will look to rebound next Sunday when Spring Hill strolls in to town for a 1:30 p.m. matchup. The Keg will be on the line once again as the two teams rekindle a rivalry that has stood the test of time.
