REGION 15C BRACKET

LAKE HENRY--The Elrosa Saints secured one victory during the first weekend of the Region 15C tourney and will play next weekend versus the Cold Spring Rockies for a berth in the State tournament. The Saints lost to New Munich 6-1 on Saturday but smacked Pearl Lake 4-2 on Sunday to keep their season alive. On Sunday vs. the Lakers, the Saints used a combination of small ball and long ball to sink Pearl Lake. Trailing 1-0 in the 6th inning, Ashton Dingmann got the band playing when he plated Blaine Fischer with the first run. Fischer reached on a bunt single and advanced to third on another bunt single from Jackson Peter. Peyton Winter then stepped to the plate and brought them all home when he hit a 3-run home run over the left field fence to give the Saints the lead for good! Peter, Fischer, and Dingmann all collected two hits during the game for the Saints who gathered 7 as a team. Brett Engelmeyer, a draftee from Greenwald, earned the pitching win for Elrosa in Sunday's matinee in a complete game 4 hit effort while striking out 9. The Navy Nine played great defense on Sunday with a number of diving catches, zero errors committed, and they also turned a double play to finish the game which only lasted an hour and 49 minutes.

Elrosa will now play Cold Spring on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Lake Henry.
