Tied and Suspended Game Rule:

1. An official game is 5 innings or 4 and one-half if the home team is ahead. If a winner can be determined and no more baseball can be played that day, the game is over and a winner is declared. The game does not have to go 7 innings.

2. If a game is stopped before it becomes an official game, the game is a suspended game. This game will be picked up at that point. Score, inning, count of batter etc. should all be recorded in the scorebook. The game will be completed the next day as per the following: that game must resume from the point of interruption according to the following: Should the suspended game be the first game of a two-game series or the first or second game of a three-game series, play will resume on the date of the next scheduled game of the series, prior to the scheduled game, even if the game is on the opposite site form the original game unless both schools agree to play on the next available date which is prior to the next scheduled game. Should the suspended game be the final game of a series, play will resume at the same site on the next available date.

3. If the game is stopped after having gone long enough to be an official game, however a winner cannot be determined due to a) tied score or b) the visiting team takes the lead in the top of the inning.

In a)This game becomes a tied game at that point and score, inning, count of batter etc., should all be recorded in the scorebook.

In b) the game becomes a suspended game and at that point, the score, inning, count of batter, etc., should all be recorded in the scorebook.

In both scenarios, the game will be started from the point of suspension and completed the next day as per the following: Should the suspended game be the first game of a two-game series or the first or second game of a three-game series, play will resume on the date of the next scheduled game of the series, prior to the scheduled game, even if the game is on the opposite site form the original game unless both schools agree to play on the next available date which is prior to the next scheduled game. Should the suspended game be the final game of a series, play will resume at the same site on the next available date.

4. If a game is stopped after having gone long enough to become an official game and;

a. The home team ties the game in the bottom half of the inning but does not complete the inning. If we cannot play anymore, we have a tied/suspended game at point. This game will be picked up at that point. Score, inning, count of batter, etc., should all be recorded in the scorebook. Or,

b. The home team takes the lead in the bottom half of the 5th or 6th inning, and then the game is called. At that point, the home team is declared the winner.

**Currently in the handbook:

If any game is suspended for any reason prior to it being an official game, that game must resume from the point of interruption.
