Results of the 2018 WPIAL championships

Congratulations to all the 27 athletes on the Men's and Women's track and field team that competed at the WPIAL championships yesterday.  Medalists included the Men's 4x8 relay finishing 6th with Hunter Fishell, Jacob Hnath, Matt Good and Matt Busche.   Shelby Cooper also had a 6th place finish in the Pole Vault.  The Men's 4x1 relay with Tyrese Kohlman, Zach Gordan, Colton Johns and Hayden Deller took home a 7th place finish and improved their school record time.  There were 6 athletes who qualified for the state championship next weekend in Shippensburg.  They are Tiffany Jolayemi who took 4th in the discus, Sterling Simek took 4th in the 800 and broke her own school record with an excellent time of 2:15.75.  Rayna Todero also advanced to states in the triple jump with a 4th place finish and Tyrese Kohlman finished 3rd in the 200 dash.  Jacob Shedd took 4th in Long Jump and won the WPIAL title in the triple jump. Franklin Regional got another WPIAL Champion in Matt Busche with an incredibly fast run and new school record in the 800 with a time of 1:53.31.  That run ranks Matt second in the state.
