The GCAA Softball program currently offers the following programs and will need parent volunteers for all.  No experience required!

 

  • K-1 Clinic: (Tee Ball) Starting in April. Typically 1 day per week.  
  • 8U (Grades 2-3): Team play. Coach and player pitch. Typically 1 game and 1 practice per week.
  • 10U (Grades 4-5): Team play. Player pitch only. Inter-town league, typically 2 games per week plus 1 practice. Towns do not set schedules until March.

  • 12U (Grades 6-7): Team play. Player pitch only. Inter-town league, typically 2 games per week plus 1 practice. Towns do not set schedules until March. 
  • 14U/16U (Grades 8-12): Advanced Tournament and League Teams, with season starting in Spring and extending into Summer. Will not conflict/overlap with school softball seasons.  

Locations for practices and home games include: Tullamore Park, Garden City Community Park and Nassau Haven Park.

The program consists of 4 seasons, each requiring separate registrations:

Spring: This is the official “Season” for all ages and skill levels. (April-May/June)

Summer: 8U & Up. Tryouts required, includes Little League World Series tournaments and league play. Requires Birth Certificate and multiple proofs of current residency for participation. (June-July/August)

Fall: 8U & Up. “Fall Ball” Skill clinics/scrimmages, pitching and catching clinics. (September-October, Sundays only)

Winter:  8U & Up. Batting cages and pitching/catching clinics. Included with Fall Ball registration. (January-February/March)

*Summer and Fall/Winter is optional for those enjoying the game and seeking advanced play and skill development.
