The Tigers takes early lead on single, holds on for 5-3 win over Spring (TX)

Three first-inning runs helped the Tigers to a 5-3 win over Spring at KCHS on Tuesday.

The Tigers scored in the first on an RBI single by Nick Mikolajchak, an RBI single by Dillon Nesbit, and an error.

The Tigers would not relinquish the lead as Spring was unable to weather a five-run second inning deficit.

Spring scored on an RBI double by Mark Haynes in the third inning and a two-run error in the sixth inning. Despite its efforts, Spring couldn't finish the comeback.

Mikolajchak racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Tigers.

Jacob Wieder got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Lance Lusk took the loss for Spring . He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The Tigers added two more runs in the bottom of the second. Ryan Branum singled, bringing home Tyler Rosplock to start the inning. That was followed up by Mikolajchak's single, plating Jon Windham.
