The Klein Collins Tigers Varsity's four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 6-3 win over Cedar Ridge on Friday at Mumford ISD Athletic Complex.

The Klein Collins Tigers Varsity scored in the first on a two-run error, an RBI single by Ricky Urbano, and a sacrifice fly by Charles Branum.

Joel Rodriguez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Klein Collins Tigers Varsity. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the second inning.

Hunter Strawn put together a nice outing. Hunter held Cedar Ridge hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Austin Boyles got the win for the Klein Collins Tigers Varsity. He allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Jason Ruiz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out seven.

Two Cedar Ridge runs crossed the plate in the top half of the second, making the score 4-2. An RBI single by Tony Oslovar and an RBI single by Justin Haros gave Cedar Ridge life. But, Austin got Derek Ramos to ground out to end the inning.

Cedar Ridge scored one run in the top of the third to cut its deficit to three. An error triggered Cedar Ridge's comeback. Jacob Tello flew out to end the Cedar Ridge threat.
