FAQ's for 2019

2019 MFL Huskies Programs

FALL FLAG - $225

Season starts beginning of September.

Please see uaflag.com for full details and registration.

 

 FALL TACKLE - $350

Practices will start July 15th and be  Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm until school starts then Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Practices - Woodlands Secondary School until after school starts and then Loyola S.S. starting September 17th

Age Divisions *(Note the age changes)

Atom - 2010-2011 (8 & 9 years old)

Peewee - 2009-2008 (10 & 11 years old)

Bantam - 2007-2006 (12 & 13 years old)

JV - 2004-2005 (14 &15 years old)

Varsity - 2002-2003 (16 & 17 years old)

* Based on age as at 31 Dec 2018.

Equipment

All protective equipment with the exception of cleats and girdles will be provided on a loan basis.  Game jerseys, socks and mouth guard are provided which the player keeps.  

Girdles can be purchased from a retail store.

Cleats cannot have metal studs.

Players cannot wear their own equipment.  

 

Team Assignments

Players will be drafted, if required, to teams based on players’ skillset during the pre-season practice sessions.

 

FOOTBALL ACADEMY - $225

Ages 8 – 17 years old – (2002 to 2011)

Starts End of May and runs through to mid July at Woodlands Secondary School Football Field.

 

The Football Academy program will consist of skills training, safe tackle techniques and combine drills to help players for the MFL and High Schools prepare for their Fall football season.

All Ages – Tuesday & Thursday nights – 6:30-8:30 pm

 

SUMMER FLAG - $175

Season starts April 7th and runs through to June 23rd.

Where:  John Fraser Secondary School Football Field 

Practices and games are on Sundays.

1-hour practice followed by 1-hour game.

 Age Divisions * 

Tyke/Atom – 2010 to 2014 (5 to 9 years old)

Peewee/Junior Bantam – 2006 to 2009 (10,to 13 years old)

Senior Bantam/Varsity – 2001 to 2005 (14, to 18 years old)

REREGISTRATION FEES

Summer Flag - $175.00

Football Academy - $225

Fall Tackle - $350 ( plus $54 in fees paid to OFA and Football Canada)

UA Fall Flag- $225 ( registration done at uaflag.com)

 

NON-RESIDENTS OF MISSISSAUGA

There is a $20.00 fee for players registering for Flag or Tackle who do not live in Mississauga. 

If registering for multiple MFL programs, only one $20 fee will be applied.

 

REGISTRATION PROCESS

1.  Go to www.m-f-l.ca 

2.  Click on the program to which you want to register your child using the Registration tab on right side of MFL Welcome Page. 

3.  Once player registration is complete, you will receive an email confirmation containing a link to the registration form.  

a.  This copy can be printed as your confirmation if not printed at time of online registration.  There is a prompt at the end of the registration process to register additional players.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Online during registration:

Credit Card/Debit Card (Visa Debit):  

A Paypal Account is NOT required to pay by credit card. 

 

In person payment:

Credit Card, Cash or E-Transfer.

A minimum payment of $100 for Tackle and $50 for Flag and Academy is required during online registration. 

If full payment is not made during the online registration process, arrangements must be make in person with the Registrar or Treasurer.

 

Arrangements

Must be made in person with Registrar and/or Treasurer.

If applying for financial assistance (e.g. Jumpstart or equivalent), you must register in person and provide a minimum payment amount. 

Options include CASH, CREDIT CARD, or E-TRANSFER

 

Etransfer:

Through your online banking facility.

No question is required.

 

IN PERSON REGISTRATION

There will be opportunities to complete registrations in-person throughout the spring and summer.  Dates will be listed on the MFL website and sent through email communication.

 

FULLY REGISTERED STATUS

Registration fees must be paid in full or arrangements made with the MFL Treasurer.

Documentation must be completed and sent to the MFL Registrar or dropped off at an in-person registration:

  Registration Form signed by Parent or Guardian

  Recent Photo

  Proof of Age.

Photocopies of passports are sufficient for both Photo & Proof of Age.

 

 

FIELD LOCATIONS

The DIRECTIONS link on the site will give maps to all fields that will be used for our programs.

Directions to AWAY fields for Fall tackle will be updated when schedule has been received.

 

HEADQUARTERS 

The MFL Headquarters address is 5730 Coopers Ave., Unit #27 and is located at Kennedy Road & Coopers Ave (just east of Kennedy).

 

Unless there is an in-person registration or equipment handout, there is no one at that location. 

 

REFUND POLICY:

Flag – Before April 7, 2019, registration amount paid less $50 administration fee. No Refund after April 7, 2019.

Academy – Before May 21st, registration amount paid less $50 administration fee.  No refund after May 21st

Tackle – Before July 15th, Registration amount paid less $100 administration fee.  No refund after July 15th.

 

Refunds are considered based on the date that the MFL is advised of the resignation.

 

MFL ORGANIZATION

This organization is run 100% by volunteers. We encourage parents, family and friends of the players to donate their time to assist in making this an exciting and enjoyable activity for everyone involved.
