2023 Fan's Star of the Season

December 15, 2023

We would like to thank the 795 people that took part in the 2023 Fan's Star of the Season vote. Your support of these ten outstanding student-athletes and their tremendous efforts are a great sign of the pride from each of you and your communities. Despite how the voting went, these efforts signified some of the top single-game individual performances from across of the state. While only one will get the recognition as the Fan’s Star of the Season, it should not be taken lightly of the other nine efforts that were recognized amongst the thousands of performances in Maine this season.

Here are the top three selections by your vote.

In third place with 85 votes is Bucksport's Ayden Maguire. He was an editor's selection for his week six performance during the Golden Bucks 48-34 victory over Ellsworth. In that game Ayden completed 12 of 19 passes for 176 yards and threw 3 touchdowns with 3 2-pt passing conversions, he ran 19 times for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns with 3 2-pt rushing conversions, and on defense he had 3 tackles and 1 interception.

In second place with 171 votes is Messalonskee's Tatum Doucette. He was a fan's selection for his week one performance during the Eagles 47-8 victory over Falmouth. In that game Tatum completed 9 of 14 passes for 268 yards and 5 touchdowns while rushing 5 times for 54 yards.

In first place and the 2023 Fan’s Star of the Season with 206 votes is Leavitt's Noah Carpenter. He was an editor's selection for his week five performance during the Hornets 62-32 victory over Lawrence. In that game Noah completed 8 of 13 passes for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns while he ran 8 times for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Noah will join past winners of the Fan's Star of the Season such as Issiah Bachelder of Portland (2016), Lucas Francis of Lisbon (2017), Carter Tolmasoff of Bucksport (2018), Riley Geyer of Cony (2019), Liam Von Oesen of Waterville (2021), and Adam Savage of Skowhegan (2022). We would like to congratulate Noah, Tatum, Ayden, and the other seven student-athletes for their efforts this season.
