Top 10 Class 3A MVPs (pre-season, www.iowapreps.com)

Before the season starts, we felt it would be a great time to recognize athletes who we feel are the most valuable in different areas of the state. In this look, we name who we feel are the ten MVPs among all of the Class 3A teams. Find out who made the cut now!

So what is our official definition of a most valuable player? It is someone who is indispensable on the team. They may make an impact by playing both sides of the ball or could just be a dominant field general only on offense. Rankings and recruiting do not factor into this. What matters is a player who just dominates the game when they are on the field and are considered extremely valuable by their team.

Blaine Forsythe, Pella
This talented quarterback put the Dutch on his back at times during the fall.

Blake Haluska, Carroll
Haluska's play was vital for the Tigers eventual undefeated run during the regular season.

Brandon Scherff, Denison
How many different positions will this versatile athlete play in his college career? He has college options but that is definitely not why he makes this list.

Dylan Blankenship, Glenwood
This bruising running back makes the opposition pay for trying to tackle him.

Ethan Tindall, Clear Lake
This ball hawking linebacker makes plays all over the field and will be a valuable piece for the Lions this fall.

Henry Krieger-Coble, Mount Pleasant
His ability on both sides of the ball is a big reason why the Panthers will be making another playoff run.

Jared Wauters, Union
Wauters has some serious skills on both sides of the ball but may be best as a receiver.

Matt Hoch, Harlan
This future Iowa Hawkeye is a dominant force who will do whatever needed to help his team win.

Tanner Susin, Centerville
A lot is expected of Centerville this year and Susin will play a large role in their success on both sides of the ball.

Zach Twedt, Benton
Twedt is the only junior on the list but will be a man amongst boys this fall for the Bobcats.
