The expectations were very high for Union lineman Josh Clark and his teammates this fall on the gridiron during a move to the Class 2A level. A season opening loss quickly left them to realize that they can't just show up and win.
"Everyone is coming to get us and everyone wants to get a piece of the defending 3A champions. Anything can happen. Just because we are in 2A doesn't mean it is any easier."

Clark feels that the Knights remain headed in the right direction.

"It was a rocky start at first but every single game we have gotten better and better. We have come together more as the team I believe we can be."

A week nine battle against Columbus is one that Clark knows could be favorable.

"They look like they don't have very many guys and have been having trouble all year long."

Clark has three college programs calling him as of late.

"It has been Iowa State, Iowa Western, and UNI."

One of those programs stood out according to this talented senior.

"It would definitely be Iowa State with the way Paul Rhoads has turned around the program. They are having a lot of success."

The Junior College route is something that Clark is taking seriously.

"I'm looking into it a lot. I'm not a huge name recruit and people may overlook me because of my grades and size. They have a really good program and I'd like to be a part of that.
