July 4th Sand Volleyball Tournament at Lock 3
Finally the long awaited sand courts will be completed at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron just in time for the July 4th holiday weekend. So we plan on celebrating by hosting the first of many sand volleyball tournaments!
When: Saturday, July 4 – Registration starts at 9:30 am and first serve will be at 10 am
Where: new sand volleyball courts located between Lock 3 Park and Canal Park Stadium
Divisions: Scrambled 4’s division (register as a male/female pair) – Upper division and lower division
Cost: $15 per person which includes a pass to any Lock 3 concert/event and lunch (hot dog, chips, & soda)

We are very excited about the construction of these new courts and look forward to hosting leagues, tournaments, and open court time. So please keep watching for updates on what is happening at Lock 3.

Thursday Lock 3 Kickball League

Softball Championship/Playoff Information
We are quickly approaching championship game and playoff time in the Cascade Valley softball leagues. Here is the plan. On your teams’ regular playing day the week after the regular season is complete, we will play the championship game, and start the below .500 playoffs. The division winners will play one game to determine the league champion. The week following we will have the .500 and above playoffs, and if necessary, finish the below .500. There will be some teams (those .500 or above that are not in the championship game) that will have a week off before they play in the playoffs. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is necessary so I can complete playoff brackets and schedule umpires. The seeding for the playoffs will be based on your overall record, with the exception that the two teams in the championship game will be seeded one and two based on the outcome of that game, even if there is a team not in the championship game with a better record. A coin toss will determine the home team in both the championship games and playoffs. Once every league is done with their respective playoff tournaments, the winners will play in a tournament to determine the overall .500 and above, and below .500 champions. All tournaments will be single elimination. I will contact you regarding your playing times for the playoffs, and if necessary, championship game, as soon as possible following the last week of the regular season. All championship game and playoff information will be on the standings page of the website. Please check it regularly.
