Fall 2009 Season
- Registration Meeting will be Thursday July 16th from 7:00-8:00. Location is TBA. The Registration Form must be turned in and the Registration Fee paid. The registration form can be found under the DSL forms link in Word or PDF format. There should be at least one person from every school (there does not need to be one person from every team). To be more efficient, you can email the registration form to Mitch Riehle and mail the fees. The deadline for sending the forms via email and fees via mail is July 16th. Otherwise, please come to the meeting. The fees are $75 per JV and Varsity and Developmental Team. The Developmental Fee is increasing from $50 to $75 to offset increasing costs of the Developmental Tournament – we will have separate 3rd and 4th grade Tournaments and Championships in the Fall. Checks should be payable to the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
- Coaches Meeting will be Thursday August 13th from 7:00-830
. We will distribute and discuss the schedules for JV, Varsity, and Developmental. There should be one coach per team. This is a very good way to have an organized season is to have one coach from every team at this meeting. Each coach will also receive their coupon for their free soccer equipment from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Season Schedule – Labor Day is late this Fall on Sept 7th so tentatively speaking our first games will be the weekend of Sept 12-13. This will give us 7 weeks to play 8 games. Then the weekend of Oct 31st will be open and only for make –ups then the Tournament will be Nov 7-8.
Fall Tournament – We are actively looking for another location for the Fall Tournament. Please contact Mitch with any ideas.

If you are planning on attending Pittsburgh Central Catholic in the fall and playing soccer as a freshman, you can register for Central’s program on line. The link below will take you directly to Central’s Soccer website, and you can follow the instructions there for registration.

NFHS Soccer Rules Book

Coaches and Players, there seems to be continued controversy over the "rules" of soccer. The DSL follows the NFHS Soccer Rules Book which can be orderd by going to the NFHS website @ www.nfhs.com. Follow the link for "Soccer" to get to the order form for the Soccer Rules Book which cost $6.75 plus shipping and handling. There is also a minimum order of $10.00 so why not get a copy for all your coaches in your program?
