2008-2009 Season Draws to an End
With the completion of the Marlene Pippy Memorial Tournament, Kingston Ladies Dart League can say farewell to another great season of ladies' darts.
The straight season format that was adopted 2 years ago is working out very well, with teams getting more regular season and playoff games than in past years.
Tournament participation this year has been astonishing. All 4 KLDL-run tournaments this season have set records and it's truly wonderful to watch the sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed by our players.
The Awards Banquet, held 8 May at the Lions Hall in Sunbury, was a terrific success! The Social Convenor, Sherry G, had the room decorated beautifully, and there were loads of gifts and prizes to give away. The baskets donated by the teams were extremely popular. The food was absolutely fantastic, with enough for seconds and thirds. Desserts were plentiful and delicious, and everying was ready exactly on time!
Thanks to Sherry for a great evening, to all of you that came out to support the league awards night, and to Laurie H who was our designated driver extraordinaire!
Thank you all for your continued support, for your friendship and for your loyalty to the best league in Kingston. I hope to see all of you again at the August General Membership meeting (date to be announced), and I wish you a safe, healthy and relaxing summer. See you in September!
