EBYA Fall Festival on November 19th!!!

East Bay Youth Athletics is excited about our upcoming event on November 19th!  We will be having a fall festival at the end of our fall ball season this year and would like everyone to attend and show our East Bay spirit!  There will be many things for our players and parents to do with a Dunk Tank, Face Painting, Zombie Treasure Hunt Run, Bounce House, and much more.  Best of all, you will get to see all of your managers and coaches compete in a Softball tournament and get to cheer on your coaches!  Hope you will be there as we expect a great turnout for everyone to have tons of EBYA fun!!!

Congratulations to your new EBYA Board of Directors

First and foremost, EBYA would like to thank all that came out to the Fall General Meeting & Elections last night. Also, thank you to all that voted in person or by absentee ballot. This year we had a great turn out of people that were on the ballot that want to help make EBYA even better. We want to thank everyone that put their name on the ballot as we can never have enough good volunteers. With that being said if you are not on the Board of Directors and you want to help and volunteer in some way, please let us know. Last by not least, CONGRATULATIONS to your new EBYA Board of Directors which will take effect on Saturday, October 1, 2016.

Calling All Managers / Coaches / Volunteers!!!

EBYA Manager/Coach/Volunteer Application Process

East Bay Youth Athletics (EBYA) always has a need to grow our coaching staff. We encourage all interested adults to participate as a Manager or Coach. We believe you will find, as many of us have, that it is very rewarding yet challenging experience.

There are several steps every Manager and Coach must comply with in order to be properly registered to Manage or Coach a team at EBYA.

Manager Qualifications:

  1. Submit an EBYA volunteer application for each new season. Click here to submit an application online. Hard copies of this application will not be processed or accepted. This will trigger a background check which is required for all volunteers at EBYA.
  2. Have completed a coaching course within the past year. As per our current EBYA Local Rules 2016, EBYA will only accept NAYS for this requirement.
  3. Have completed a concussion course. This can be obtained while completing the NAYS online coaching course. (recommended)
  4. Have completed a CPR course within the last (2) years
  5. Attend coaching clinics presented by the league.

Coach Qualifications:

  4.  Attend coaching clinics presented by the league.

Manager and Coach Selection:

  1. All Managers and Coaches will be interviewed by an EBYA representative. These interviews can be performed on site or via telephone.
  2. Selection is not based solely on baseball or softball skills. Managers and coaches are required to handle all facets of operating a team, not just field activities. They are also expected to assist in the maturation of our young players by emphasizing good sportsmanship and becoming good teammates. Managers and Coaches are expected to lead by example in treating players, other coaches and umpires with respect.  Managers and Coaches are expected to be knowledgeable in Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth, EBAY Local Rules and safety plan.
  3. All Managers and Coaches are expected to take an active interest in the growth of EBYA and improvement of its facilities. Managers and Coaches are expected to be members of EBYA and take an interest in league functions. These may include: Field work days, serving on a committee, acquiring sponsors, and promoting fundraising.

Volunteers:

All team personnel (team moms, dugout parents, field parents) that have repetitive access to the children must also register with EBYA. This involves the following:

  1. Submitting a Volunteer Application (via the website)

MANAGERS/COACHES/VOLUNTEERS:

A picture ID will be issued upon completing the requirements for which you have requested. This ID must be be worn at all times while at EBYA or any other park while engaging in activities involving EBYA.
