When Games and Practice End, Field Prep Begins
Just because a practice and a game are finished doesn’t mean the work is done. In order to keep the Golfmoor fields in top notch condition field care needs to be done after any activity on the fields. Here is some tips on how to keep the fields looking good.
When done with a game or practice rake and fill in holes on the mound and around home plate. Drag the field if possible. If dragging the field is not possible try and rake to and smooth out areas where foot prints have left divots.
If the field has tarps for the pitcher’s mound, home plate, and bull pens use them. This will help cut down erosion due to rain and keep the soft areas from becoming a big mud pit.
Consider putting together a list of duties and assigning it to your players. This will speed up the time taken to put the field back together and will also teach them responsibility and give them a sense of pride for the field they call home
Clean out trash from the dugouts whether it be a full trash can or plastic bottles laying around on or under the bench, also pick up trash around the park and empty all trash cans that need it.
Finally make a quick walk around the facilities and if you are the last team at the facility check and make sure all equipment is put away and the doors to the garages and bathrooms are locked.
By doing this you will help keep Golfmoor as the league with the best facilities for the players and you do not make extra work for the teams that may use the field after you.

2015 Sponsorship Opportunities Available
The Golfmoor Baseball Association & Golfmoor Little League invite you to be a part of a winning tradition for our community’s youth. Golfmoor Baseball offers 6 competitive baseball leagues for young boys and girls from age 3 to 14 years old. Golfmoor, a non-profit organization, instructs more than 600 children annually during spring, summer all-star, and fall leagues.
While we focus on the fundamentals of baseball, we also strive to teach our children the importance of teamwork and leadership. Valuable life lessons are taught while providing the opportunity to develop the fundamental skills of America’s pastime. Golfmoor Baseball is guided by a dedicated group of volunteer coaches and parents. Our 2015 season budget covers training costs, league and tournament entries, fees for equipment, umpires and uniforms, insurance, along with repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the 8 baseball fields we maintain.
Since we are a small, 501(c)(3), nonprofit club, our primary revenue sources are registration fees paid by families, concessions, fundraisers, donations and sponsorships received from generous individuals and local businesses. Without the support of local community businesses, we would be unable to reach the financial requirements to provide the Golfmoor players with the quality baseball program desired.
In order to make this rewarding experience a reality for our youth, we are asking your business to become a team sponsor. Sponsorships range from $200 - $1000 and include promotional benefits to your business.
Parents who secure a sponsorship can ask for $20 off on their player's registration fee.
