WINTER WORKOUTS
In order to participate in the workouts you must have been registered with HYSL softball during the spring or fall 2009 season.
Winter Workouts will begin December 1, 2009 in the multi-purpose room at Point Pleasant Elementary School, 1035 Dumbarton Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060. (Ritchie Highway to E. Furnace Branch Road, make a left on Point Pleasant Road, right on Genine Drive, left on Dumbarton Road. Make a right into the school and follow the road to the right behind the school. Go toward the portable classroom and use the entrance on the side of the school. Ring the bell to gain entrance.
The schedule is as follows: NO CLINIC ON DECEMBER 8TH
PITCHING AND CATCHING - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 = 10&Under / 7:30-8:30 = 12&Under, 14&Under, 19&Under
Pitchers must have a parent/catcher, in order for coaches to provide instruction.
Catchers are invited to get catching practice. Some catching gear will be available. Anyone under 18 must wear full catching gear.
HITTING AND FIELDING - Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30
**No cleats are allowed in the gym. Wear appropriate shoes.
**WEATHER/CANCELLATION POLICY - ANYTIME SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED OR CLOSE EARLY (CANCELLING AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES), THE WORKOUTS WILL BE CANCELLED.
2010 SOFTBALL BOARD
The softball board is in need of volunteers to fill several vacant positions. If you are interested in a position on the softball board, please contact Joe Feeney or any member of the board for more information.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Everyone is invited to attend HYSL's General Membership Meeting on December 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Corkran Middle School Cafeteria. This meeting is for members of HYSL to come and voice their questions and/or concerns about the league.
PLEASE USE THE REAR ENTRANCE.
DONATIONS WANTED
We are looking for donations of gently used girls' softball bats. If you have any bats that your child has outgrown or no longer needs and you are willing to donate them to the league, please contact Dave Longbottom at (410)760-2287. Thanks in advance for helping the girls!
Umpires Needed
We are looking for umpires for the upcoming 2010 spring season. If you can help out or know of someone who can, please give Joe Feeney a call at 410-925-0450.
