Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association

Welcome to the home of the Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association.
The mission of the GHYLA is to organize, develop, and promote middle and elementary school lacrosse in the Greater Houston area, and to honor the game by instilling the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, and individual development.

The GHYLA consists of teams from the following organizations:
Clear Lake, Cy-Fair, Fort Bend, Frank Black MS, Friendswood, HYLAX, Katy, Kingwood, Kinkaid, Klein, Lobo Lacrosse, Magnolia, Memorial, Outlaws, 
Pearland, Pin Oak, Pershing, Presbyterian, Richmond, Saints, Sienna, and Woodlands.

The GHYLA is composed of five playing-level divisions:
8th graders, 7th graders, the Young Guns (5th and 6th graders),  4th Grade and Under (4U), and 2nd Grade and Under (2U) Division.

Looking for qualified lacrosse coaches for 2016 season. Paid, part-time positions.

Skills and Qualifications:

*             Lacrosse playing experience at HS level or above

*             High lacrosse IQ, previous coaching experience preferred

*             Patience to lead recruiting efforts and coaching fundamentals to new players

*             Committed to attend 2 days of practice and 1-2 games per week

*             Availability to attend board meetings as appropriate

There is a core group of experienced players from the Fort Bend, Richmond, and Sienna programs. Coaches will have an opportunity to build a HS program in a school that already fields very successful teams in other major sports. Help the community grow this incredible game!

HOUSTON HURRICANES AND HOUSTON HAWKS SUMMER TEAM TRYOUTS

Founded in 2008 as a non-profit club, the Houston Hurricane Lacrosse Club provides a fast paced high intensity learning environment geared to the player who lives the game and wants to maximize his skills. We have teams for players about to start  7th grade thru 12th grade. Our coaches are a combination of those with high level collegiate experience (eg. Syracuse, Maryland, Roanoke, Princeton, UVA), Canadian Box experience ( Minto Cup champ) and local high school varsity coaches (eg. Strake, EHS, St Johns, etc), plus Hurricane alumni. 

 

We field one team per age group. 

     **Rosters vary by tournament based on skill level and availability.

The HOUSTON HAWKS Lacrosse program is excited to offer a full package of training and competition to start of your summer.  Beginning in late April and ending in mid June, players currently in grades 3-6, will be immersed in a complete lacrosse experience of two tournaments, the 23rd annual Crease Ranch Lacrosse Camp, and the MLL All Star game weekend.  Led by St John's and local coaches plus Maverick high school players, our goal is to give each player the lacrosse tools to continue to grow as a player, teammate, and competitor, all while having fun and contending with character.    For more information and to register, visit https://houstonhawks.sportngin.com/register/form/227090214

 

Sienna Panthers Claws Travel Team Tryouts

Sienna Panthers Claws Travel Teams are holding tryouts for their 2015 Summer Program on Sunday, February 15, 2015, Sunday, March 22, 2015 or Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Camp Sienna Fields (7725 Camp Sienna Trail, Missouri City, TX 77459).

Claws Travel Teams will participate in one local tournament and 2 northeast tournaments the summer of 2015. New players will receive custom helmets, reversibles, shorts and shooting shirts.

1 Session on February 15:

-4:00pm to 5:30pm

2 Sessions Per March 22 & March 29:

-1:00pm to 2:30pm (Session 1)

-4:00pm to 5:30pm (Session 2)

GHYLA received designation as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to GHYLA are also tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. GHYLA is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under section 2055, 2016, or 2522 of the Code.
