Meeting Notice for November 9, 2017 Board Meeting
To: Members of the Board of Directors
Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the holders of the Members of the Board of Directors of GHYLA will be held in accordance with the Bylaws of GHYLA at the DLA Piper Law Firm Conference Room, 1000 Louisiana Street Suite 2800, Houston, Texas 77002 on the 9th day of November 2017 at 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 pm to consider the following business:
1. The election of the members of the Executive Committee for the following positions:
Vice President 8th Grade
Vice President 6th Grade
Vice President 4th Grade
Vice President 2nd Grade
US Lacrosse Representative
Please submit any nominations to the GHYLA President at email@example.com for the Executive Committee positions by October 31, 2017. Please be advised that voting by proxy is not permitted by the Bylaws, however, a Board Member may designate someone from his/her club to act in his/her place.
2. Review budget from prior year.
3. To vote on any proposals for changes to the Bylaws, if any.
There is a proposal to dispense with US Lacrosse Youth Rules in light of rule changes for 2017 season, form a Rules Committee to review rules aligned closer to THSLL rules.
4. To vote on any proposals for league realignment, if any.
There is a proposal to dispense with multiple conferences and to limit conferences to North/South to further align with THSLL rules.
5. To vote on Playoff Structure in line with THSLL.
There is a proposal to dispense with the end-of-the-season tournament structure for playoffs and institute a playoff period over a two-week period where only the Championship Games are played at a central location.

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the holders of the Members of the Board of Directors of GHYLA will be held in accordance with the Bylaws of GHYLA at Wells Fargo Plaza at DLA Piper located at 1000 Louisiana Street, Suite 2800, Houston, TX 77002 on the 4th day of January 20167 at 6:30pm to conduct the following business:
1. Overview the use of Arbiter 6:30 – 7:00
2. Schedule games for playoff and nonplayoff eligible teams
Welcome to the home of the Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association.
The mission of the GHYLA is to organize, develop, and promote middle and elementary school lacrosse in the Greater Houston area, and to honor the game by instilling the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, and individual development.
The GHYLA consists of teams from the following organizations:
Clear Lake, Cy-Fair, Frank Black MS, Friendswood, HYLAX, Katy, Kingwood, Kinkaid, Klein, Lobo Lacrosse, Magnolia, Memorial, Outlaws, Pearland, Pin Oak, Pershing, Presbyterian, Richmond, Sienna, and Woodlands.
The GHYLA is composed of five playing-level divisions:
8th graders, 7th graders, the Young Guns (5th and 6th graders), 4th Grade and Under (4U), and 2nd Grade and Under (2U) Division.
