Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association

Welcome to the home of the Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association.

Pearland, Pin Oak, Pershing, Presbyterian, Richmond, Saints, Sienna, and Woodlands.

The GHYLA is composed of five playing-level divisions:
8th graders, 7th graders, the Young Guns (5th and 6th graders),  4th Grade and Under (4U), and 2nd Grade and Under (2U) Division.

Why Play for Team 91?

Unparalleled Coaching

Team 91 spends countless hours throughout the year coaching, training and mentoring players of all ages and skill levels.  Our coaches include:

•Three MLL Coaches of the Year (Jimmy Mulé, Sal Locascio & Joe Spallina)

•Two National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Members (Sal Locascio & Mark Millon)

•Over 12 MLL Championships (Brian Spallina has six alone!)

•Division 1 NCAA Coaches (Joe Spallina)

•Plus a rotating schedule of guest coaches that include some of the top coaches in the game today!

Team 91 and the National Lacrosse Federation

Team 91 is one of only six clubs nationally that can offer access to some of the biggest showcases in the nation for our HS players and some of the most competitive tournaments on the summer circuit for our youth teams.

The NLF provides a consistent level of elite competition for its member clubs.  This elite level of play will be a benefit to all clubs that share our values and level of play and participate in our events. Team 91, Long Island Express, Leading Edge, HHH Big 4, Baltimore Crabs, and Laxachusetts have made a significant imprint in their respective regions and in the country. We have joined forces to insure the events and opportunities we offer our players will be with and against comparable competitors that share similar standards.

College Commitments

The Team at Team 91prides itself to place its teams into the appropriately skilled and appropriately attended events.  Many of these events are invitational or member only. There is no doubt that Team 91 has an impressive roster of current players and their college commitments. Will you be next?

Box Lacrosse Curriculum

Team 91 understands the value of a full box lacrosse curriculum. The development of stick skills in a closed environment amplifies once the player gets outside on the large field. Throughout the year, Team 91 will implement box lacrosse training throughout its drillwork.  There's no argument, Team 91 was the first club on LI to roll out a full time box team and its success was beyond anyone's expectations, winning championships at every event it attended.

•True Box Lacrosse Coaches including Rob Campbell and Brian O'Keefe

•All training done on regulation box goals with fully padded goaltenders

•Full Time goaltender instruction

•Full Box uniform kids including hard pads, helmets and jerseys
