Hillsborough Half -Marathon Training Class

So you want to successfully run the popular half-marathon distance.  Whether you’re a first-timer or you’re looking to improve your performance, the Hillsborough Half-Marathon Training Class is for you!  Join Road Runner Club of America Certified Coach Jerry Baron for this 8-session training class.   This class is designed to prepare you for the NJ Half Marathon* in Long Branch, NJ on April 29.


Here’s what you’ll get:

Eight class sessions involving relevant training topics and optional group run.

A training plan that is customized for you that includes long run progression, mid-week run workouts, and cross training guidance.

Access to a coach for guidance, support, and questions.

Access to other training partners to share your journey with.

Race day preparation discussion and assistance with race day goal planning to help eliminate uncertainty and doubt.

The opportunity to learn about running related topics, run further, feel better about yourself, and have FUN with your training!

About the Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation

Our mission is to enrich the lives of the residents of Hillsborough by providing safe, welcoming parks and recreation facilities and affordable, diverse recreation and social activities for people of all ages and abilities to play, learn, contemplate, build community, and be good stewards of our environment.


The Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation maintains the parks of Hillsborough and Flagtown and provides recreation programs for youth, adults, and seniors.


Youth programs include the instruction of fundamentals and skills of a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, softball, among others.  Our youth programs begin for children as young as four years old.  Sports leagues organized by the Department include fall and spring soccer, winter and summer basketball, and softball.


Adult programs include informal leagues for basketball and volleyball.


For a full list of program offerings, be sure to consult the program brochure, available on our website.  To register, you may use the Community Pass system by clicking the Program Registration link; alternatively, you may call our office to register over the phone.


All parks are open to the public from 8:00am to dusk, as per Hillsborough Township Ordinances, unless a Department program is offered at the park.  Parks and athletic fields maintained by the Department are listed under the Parks Directory link.
