Rutgers SAFETY Certification Course - September 6
The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) is a three-hour program that meets the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the "Little League Law" (2A:62A-6 et. seq.)
The Hillsborough Township Department of Parks & Recreation will be hosting a Rutgers SAFETY Certification Course for youth sport coaches of sports offered by the Department on Tuesday, September 6 beginning at 7:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Hillsborough Municipal Building.
The topics include:
Check in will begin at 6:30pm. All participants must arrive prior to the class beginning. Late participants will not be allowed to enter or complete the certification course.
Pre-registration is required. Registration is available on CommunityPass. Click the Register for Activities button to sign up for the class. The $35 fee includes a coaching reference manual. There is a maximum number of seats in the class. Register early to guarantee your place.

About the Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation
Our mission is to enrich the lives of the residents of Hillsborough by providing safe, welcoming parks and recreation facilities and affordable, diverse recreation and social activities for people of all ages and abilities to play, learn, contemplate, build community, and be good stewards of our environment.
The Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation maintains the parks of Hillsborough and Flagtown and provides recreation programs for youth, adults, and seniors.
Youth programs include the instruction of fundamentals and skills of a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, softball, among others. Our youth programs begin for children as young as four years old. Sports leagues organized by the Department include fall and spring soccer, winter and summer basketball, and softball.
Adult programs include informal leagues for basketball and volleyball.

All parks are open to the public from 8:00am to dusk, as per Hillsborough Township Ordinances, unless a Department program is offered at the park. Parks and athletic fields maintained by the Department are listed under the Parks Directory link.
