FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH: ALL STAR GAMES
You will be invited to play by your coaches. All games will start at 6:15PM. If you are playing in the All Star Game you will be given an All Star Jersey when you arrive at the game. Players should arrive no later than 5:45PM. Invite all of your family and friends to come watch these fun games!

Volunteers are needed for our end of season events. More info on All Star Games and End of Season Party to come. Please visit this link and help us out. Alot of our "regular crew" volunteers have juniors and seniors this year. It would be nice for them to enjoy these last events and not have to volunteer. Please take a look and try to help out where you can.

The Towson Tigers will be playing a double-header.
Lunch and snacks will be provided for all Parkville families.
Donation Requests: Each family should bring something to share (IE: one pack of cookies/per family) based on your league.
Pigtails/Ponytails - Please bring goodies. Cookies, cupcakes, etc. Please think about melting in making your choice.
Game 1 starts at 12noon. Our parade will be in between Games 1 and 2. Parade line up begins during the 6th inning.

REGISTRATION FOR SPRING SEASON IS OPEN!

Registration for the 2017 Spring Softball season is OPEN.

Registrations will be accepted for each age group on a space available basis. We did have a waiting list last year for each age group, so be sure to register early.
* Players must be 4 by 05/01/2017
The maximum any one family will pay is $150.00. However, this does not apply to baseball or Pride Season Registration.
Tentative Nights of Play
* Game nights and divisions are tentative and subject to change based on final registration numbers.

Winter Skills Clinic Information
Continuing in 2017, the Winter Skills Clinic is hosted by Parkville Girls Softball in conjunction with the Parkville High School Athletics Department.
The clinic will run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the following Tuesday evenings:

Do not delay in taking advantage of this great opportunity to warm up and get ready for the 2017 Spring Softball Season. This is also a chance for high school aged girls to get ready for tryouts.
In the event of inclement weather, we will follow the Baltimore County Public School closing and delays policy. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to make up any canceled sessions, but we will make every attempt to make up any sessions that are canceled due to weather. ALL volunteers must complete the Baltimore County Volunteer Application.
Process: Access the Volunteer Application by going to the following website: www.baltimorecountymd.gov/recreationvolunteers

• Complete the application and submit.
• Volunteers must complete this process prior to each program season.
• There is no cost to applicants.
Baltimore County Government is invested in increasing the safety of participants and families while they are participating in Recreation and Parks activities and programs. We are extending our efforts to include conducting background investigations for all volunteers who participate in Recreation/Nature Council, Therapeutic, PAL., and other County-sponsored recreation programs.
The background investigation will be conducted by a nationally recognized security screening firm, SSCI. This screening will include a review of each applicant's criminal history and the development of an investigative report. The results of the investigation will determine each volunteer's eligibility to volunteer in our programs. To protect the privacy of all volunteers in the program, Baltimore County staff will not have access to any detailed information regarding this background screening. SSCI will only provide a list of passed applicants to Recreation and Parks staff.
This program is a preventive measure. It is not meant to take the place of parental involvement and participation. It is meant to work in partnership with parental efforts to ensure that their children and all constituents enjoy programs and activities in a safe environment.
Who must complete the background investigation:

• Recreation/Nature Council Board Members
• Recreation/Nature Council Chairpersons
• Head and Assistant Coaches
• Instructors and Assistant Instructors
• Volunteers who have care, custody or control of children

Thunderstorm Policy Reminder
A reminder...It might be sunny right now! but thunderstorms are predicted... Just a reminder of the policy for thunderstorms while on the fields.
1 rumble of thunder/lightning - off the field for 30 minutes.
DO NOT go back on to the field for 30 minutes from the LAST rumble of thunder/lightning.
DO NOT wait by the backstop.
DO NOT wait under a tree.
Everyone must wait in their cars.
The official Baltimore County Department of Recreation and ParksPolicy is:
Upon the first sound of thunder or sighting of lightning all in attendance at the outdoor activity should immediately go to their cars or enter a building. No one will be allowed to resume play until 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder and/or the last sighting of lightning. Recreation staff has complete authority to enforce this policy at a Baltimore County facility. In the absence of recreation staff, volunteer coaches and officials must follow this policy.
WEATHER? FIELD CONDITIONS?
Parks & Rec decides if our fields are playable or not. If they state that all outdoor activities are cancelled (regardless of the weather at that time) - we are CANCELLED.
To check for any cancellations - there are three options...These are all updated in the event of changes by 4PM.
