On Behalf of the Prince William County (PWC) Panthers Track & Field Club, I would like to express my gratefulness to the parents, athletes, family members and High School students, for making our Fed Ex Fundraising program a success.  Your contribution of time, has helped us make a lot in providing better amenities to our athletes in this track and field program.

" The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention"

We genuinely thank you once again and hope and look forward to your continued support and cooperation with this and future fundraisers.

I hope this 2016 upcoming outdoor season finds everyone in great health and "fantastic" spirits!
As we prepare for our 2016 Track & Field season, I would like to welcome all our new and returning athletes to the club.
PWC Panthers Track Club is a volunteer group of dedicated parents, which support track and field within an environment that promotes leadership, team spirit and sportsmanship, both on and off the track.  The purpose of this track club is to support, encourage and recognize all youth's athletic achievements, sportsmanship and character; to contribute to the morale and enthusiasm of our athletes and our community.  That's why parental involvement is the key to establishing a tradition of successful support to PWC Panthers Track club.  Throughout the season, we will ask for your help and support mainly during our fundraising activities and community services with other local groups.
Please allow me to take this opportunity to introduce a few things about our program before the 2016 season begins.  One of the many positive aspects of track and field is everyone participates.  Nobody sits on the bench.  We welcome and encourage anyone who is willing to compete in the sport and contribute to our team.  We value attitude and commitment as much as athletic ability.  Each athlete has the capacity to improve and fulfill his or her potential.  Individual improvement and personal accomplishment are two of our primary goals.  Everyone on our team should be able to attain these goals with hard work and a good attitude.

"The journey to success is just as important as the destination."
When working with any large group, it is necessary to have policies to help us operate efficiently.  There will be several rules and regulations that we would like to make you aware of through our club bylaws and parent/team handbook that will be available prior to the 2016 season.
In addition, practice attendance is crucial for our success as a track club.  A consistent training routine is important for peak performance and personal safety.  If your athlete is unable to attend practice for any reason, it is important  that the team lead/team mom or coaching staff be made aware of this before practice begins.
"Communication is important for preventing problems and misunderstandings".
The track and field meets will be overwhelming and confusing to new members.  Don't worry, we are here to help make this season as smooth as possible.  I encourage you to ask lots of questions, talk to parents that have experienced this for years.  We are a family friendly organization who is always willing to assist.  Continue to check the website for all updates.

The Prince William County (PWC) "Panthers Youth Track Club

PWC Panther's Youth Track Club is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Organization formed under Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and United States Track & Field (USATF) associations; which strives to motivate youth between the ages of  6-18 in the Prince William/Fredericksburg/Stafford/Quantico and surrounding areas. Our track & field coaches and recently organized baseball club coaches and officers are a group of dedicated volunteers with the desire to promote a competitive sport that mentors and encourages student athletes. Our athletic program has developed an environment to support leadership, health, fitness, self-esteem, self-discipline and teamwork; while also promoting academic excellence and community involvement within a quality sports program.

Our Programs offers athletes a dynamic balance through team/individual elements of track and field/baseball as a medium to strengthen work ethics and foster self-esteem.  Sports is not about just running, chasing a ball and/or athletic conditioning; moreover, it is a training ground for our next generation of productive citizens.

Team members learn the lessons that competition teaches both on the athletic field and in life. They also learn to combine self-discipline, training, and dedication; lessons that carry over into all aspects of their lives.

PWC Panthers offers the following program throughout the year:

Track & Field
March-August (Outdoor Season)
Practice 4 day per week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Schedule Pending

Outdoor season is the core of the training process because it is when all of the competitions will be offered. We also use outdoor season as a tool to help coaches monitor athlete's academic and social progress during the school year, following up on tutoring needs, and keep parents in sync with upcoming community service projects.

Academic Requirements:

As athletes develop both physically and academically, they are inspired to achieve their personal best, whether that is in the form of college scholarships or as Olympic hopeful. We realize that not all of our athletes will grace the cover of a sports magazine, which is why we stress the importance of scholastic achievement through our grade point average guidelines.

All of our athletes must maintain at least a
"C" average in order to participate.
