FALCONS WIN THREE (3) SEMPWFL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Falcons had a historic day for the organization as they won three (3) SEMPWFL championships.  The organization has had three teams in the championship in the past but this was the first year that they were able to get three championships.  Congratulation to all the teams and good luck in the Regionals.

JR PEE WEE
The Jr Pee Wee squad won it's fifth straight SEMPWFL championship as they defeated the Oak Park Trojans 34-0.  This is coach Brian Watson's second consecutive Jr Pee Wee championship.  Jalen Kelly got the Falcons rolling as he scored on a run.  Trishon Jackson then directed the offense on several long drives.  The Jr Pee Wee will move on to the Mid America sub regional to play the Rockford Ravens (Illinois) in Kansas City, Missouri.

PEE WEE
The Pee squad won its second consecutive SEMPWFL championship as they defeated the Southfield Ravens 6-0.  The offense was led by Damon Bentley whose hard nose running gave the Falcons a 6-0 which they would not relinquish.  A close competitive game was capped off by a great goal line stand by the Falcons defense as they stopped the Ravens ballcarrier at the half yard line with twenty-one seconds remaining in the game.  The Pee Wee will move on to the Mid America sub regional to play the Bollingbrook Trojans (Illinois) in Kansas City, Missouri.

JR MIDGETS
The Jr Midget squad won it's first SEMPWFL championship as they defeated the Detroit Titans 40-6.  This is the coaching staffs fifth consecutive championship in five years and coach Eric Holmes second consecutive championship.  Sean Perry got the scoring started as he row around end for the Falcons first touchdown.   The Jr Midgets will move on to the Mid America sub regional to play the Naperville Chargers (Illinois) in Kansas City, Missouri.

Falcons History

The Southfield Lathrup Falcons organization was established in 1955, and became a member of the Jack E. Lowther Little Football League. The League was established through an endowment contributed by the widow of Jack E. Lowther who wanted to continue the work of Mr. Lowther who perished in a motor vehicle accident.
The 1980’s and 90’s witnessed the development of the Falcons as a “powerhouse” within the league emerging as “champions” year after year!

In 1994, the Falcons joined the Suburban Youth Football Conference. The Falcons have been the recipients of the Suburban Youth Football President’s Award for two consecutive years and has won it more times than any other team.

In 2005 the Falcons will be joining the Southeast Michigan Pop Warner Football League. By representing a national organization the Falcons hope to broaden it’s influence as it will now compete against teams on a Regional and National level.

The Falcons of 2008 will continue to be strong as an organization and our youth continue to demonstrate athletic and academic excellence in high schools and colleges across the state and country. Falcon’s football players and cheerleaders standards are high, goals remain focused, and education is equally emphasized. This combination as reflected by our high achievements creates a successful organization.
