2008 season preview
February 12, 2008
Not too along ago, the Wolves were the cellar-dwellers of the Chippewa River Baseball League. Putting a disappointing 3-15 record in 2006 behind them, Whitehall looks to improve on their 7-11 record from 2007. Led by CRBL veterans Paul Pehler, Jeremy Foss, and Matt Losinski; the Wolves will rely on experience to lead the way in 2008. CRBL rookies in 2007, Kyle Pronschinske (3-3, 3.83 ERA, 44 K’s) and Nolan Johnson (33 K, 29 IP) are the leaders of the relatively young pitching staff. Offensively, the Wolves are led by Pehler (.362 BA, 13 RBI, 13 SB), Pronschinske (.351 BA, 12 R, 9 SB), and Brad Schank (9 R, 8 SB). As a team, the Wolves stole 47 bases in 51 attempts, and look to be aggressive on the base paths again this season. Still a relatively young team by CRBL standards, Whitehall will make a push for the WBA playoffs in August.
