Hitting Coach

Doug is referred to these days as the “Hitting Magician,” as he can take a hitter that is struggling at the plate and turn their game around without changing their mechanics. According to Doug: “Helping a hitter change or improve their mechanics can often take many months of hard work but to help a hitter who is slumping because of mental issues like pressure, negative thinking, or vision, might only take a couple of sessions.”. Doug has spent hundreds of hours coaching rep, elite and college baseball players, working on the mental side of baseball. Doug has been with the Central Ontario Reds for 4 years. Prior to the Reds Doug was a coach with the Oakville Royals Baseball Club for 4 years. He is also the head Hitting instructor at Smith Brothers Baseball Central. Doug will be the hitting coach for the Reds 13U, 16U and 18U teams.
