Board Member Application

Meigs County Youth Sports is looking to add new Board Members. Board Members are asked to commit to a 1-year term and are required to attend a monthly meeting in addition to assigned duties. Please fill out the form below to apply.

Due to the time commitment required of a Board Member, we cannot accept applications from Coaches at this time. Board Members are only allowed to hold 1 position within the league.

Applications are kept on file for 1 year (12 months) in case a board member would resign and the president would need to appoint someone to that position until the next board meeting to finish out the term.

Duties of the Board

1st Vice President
To assume the duties of the President in his/hers absence.
To assist the President in all matters pertaining to the League.
Coordinate and monitor the scheduling of all practices and games.

(2nd Vice President is only accepted if the board feels that it needs to be filled
2nd Vice President
To assist the President in all matters pertaining to the League
Coordinate admissions and concessions at all scrimmages and games.
To act as Secretary in his/her absence.

Secretary
To notify the Board of the date, time, and place of all meetings
To keep a record of the minutes of all Board Meetings and to furnish a copy of such to the board at the next meeting
To be responsible for all correspondence as may be required.
Coordinate all publicity for the League.
To perform other duties as directed by the President.

Treasurer
To deposit and withdraw funds and to keep a complete record of receipts and disbursement of all League funds.
Coordinate all fundraising activities of the League.
To keep a complete inventory of all League equipment in conjunction with all coaches.

Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. We estimate that board service could be a commitment of 5-6 hours each month in the offseason and 10 hours per week during the season. In addition, we ask for a commitment to special events that might arise throughout the year.
