| Hi Bern,
I have some questions that I would like some answers to. I would have e-mailed you personally but I think other people may have the same questions I have. I am not trying to start anything here - I would just like some honest answers. There's alot of frustrated people both in the stands and in the pit. Please, don't take these questions the wrong way and don't talk in circles around them. If your answer is "to make money"...then so be it...at least it's honest.
To everyone else reading this...please don't put in any rude comments (but I would like to know if you have the same questions as I do) to this post...I just would like some answers. Thanks and here we go:
1. Why did you split up the V8's last Sunday?
2. How did you determine this split..(it was definitely not by points)?
3. When did you decide to do this split? Why didn't you bring it up at the driver's meeting in the pit?
4. Why did you change your mind and decide to take the top 7 instead of top 5 for the $2000? Who else knew about this? Was it a group decision?
5. Why aren't you checking any cars this year? I heard that last year or the year before (don't really know if this is true) that you checked the top 3 cars every week.
Bern, I know you are just trying to make a living like the rest of us. I'm sorry, but I really think that you are making biased decisions with no basis. It seems as if you are making up the rules as you go along and, in my opinion, that is creating alot of animosity amongst the drivers. The drivers should be having fun out there...and I think you should be encouraging that instead of creating grudges.
Thanks and I hope my words aren't too strong...just to the point.

| No Jenniffer, your questions are not "Strong". You're just asking the same questions many of us in the stands are asking. I've been going to the track for three years now, there every Sunday. During previous years, the top three cars in each division were parked in the centre of the track and they weren't moved until they were inspected. I'm not accusing anyone of suping up their cars but it would rule it out. Why has this changed?

| i agree with Jennifer. All along it was the top five cars - now all of a sudden it's the top five and all cars with 80 - 100% attendance. You are racing for points to win - attendence is not an issue. Bern why and when did you change the rules on this? You can't make rules and change them half way through. I am honestly starting to wonder why the drivers put up with this crap?? I'm starting to think that you like stiring the pot Bern, is that it???

| The $2000.00 prize money was to be a race off between the top five cars in each division. Now all of a sudden you can get in with good attendance. So the top five Super Stocker points were: 61, 99, 16, 52, and 11. But now after these guys raced their asses off to gain entry you changed the rules. Now 2, 58, and 32 can get in on the action.
In the street stock there will be no changes the top five are 26, 12, 25, 4, and 14. All fair in this division.
In the Fours, the top five points were 24, 82, 76, 65, 119. These guys, especially Todd #24 really worked hard for their spots. Oh, but I forgot you changed the rules and with 80 - 100% attendance now your adding 117, 44, 120, 49, 10, 60, 73. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HERE. I would like to know what the top five point holders in each division think of this new rule?? Comments Please?

| It is in the rule book at the beginning of the races, that the drivers with 80% or more will qualify for the run for the championship? And I think that this is only fear, in my opinion not everybody has a good day at the races. Everybody pay there money, to fix and build there cars like anybody else, and if they are willling to be there every Sunday, why not have the chance to run.

| Bern how did you make the decision to divide the V8 Superstocks? Did you pick favorites? Why was Aaron Hillier moved to the bottom half of the division when in the standings he is rated 5 while Dean Martin is rated 7 and he raced in the top half?????? If you look at "your" standings posted on this site and the flyers that were handed out at the gate, the cars were divided incorrectly. It wasn't based on a combination of Points and Attendance either because Aaron has 93% attendence while Dean has 79% attendance. Do you make your decisions based on whoever shouts at you the loudest, sorry but that's what it's starting to look like to me. I have to tell you over the last three years if you add it up I've put a few dollars in your pocket and I love the races but I have to tell you I'm getting tired of you changing the rules whenever the mood hits you. I'm just a fan, I can't imagine how frustrated the drivers are with it!

| If you look at the sheet it was for the previous week, so therefore the cars that had 79% attendance was for the week before, so therefore if you do the math - including Sunday, they will have 80%. Do the math first before you comment on something that you have no idea about. As far as I am concerned all drivers, should have the right for this money, they all work hard at their cars and they do attend the races, people do have to work on weekends, and that should not take them out of the running.

| FINALLY, someone, and a fan at that, had the balls to question the so-called "experts" of Avondale Raceway about the "very questionable" goings on that happen every Sunday. Someone has to be accountable and I feel the car owners, without whom there would not be a track, should be treated a hell of a lot more decently and fairly.

| To the person signed in as "To Kim",
I'm sorry but I'm trying to be as nice as I can about this but I think you've missed the point a little bit...we are all challenging the fact that rules are being changed on a whim. I think that is the most important point in this message board...but I see your point of view. Do you agree with our point of view that rules shouldn't change that quickly or without the prior knowledge of the drivers?

| Jennifer and Kim,you have brought up very good points and I applaud you.The only thing that will be resolved is " Nothing",the races will go on the cars will come and ETC.ETC.ETC.The first rule in the rule book when you open it up says " The track has the right to change rules when it wants!"We try to suggest differnt things then it has to be voted on then it has to be passed and then the year is over!See you next year and the same S123 starts againthe next year,so do you see the pattern? Nothing changes and you keep coming back to race.See you next year and we will have this same conversation again!!Good- Luck Dean in the chase for What Ever.Car 2 is #1 again in 2005.

| I'm not here to rake anyone over the coals, I would just like to know the facts. I don't understand how the decisions are made, that's why I'm asking. The way I see it by looking at the stats doesn't match up with the decision that was made. What am I missing?

| You are wrong the Track does not have a right to change rules when it wants to. If so please give me the page and rule number. Thursday night they vote for 4 new members to go on the Board why don't you put your name?

| I'm going for a mini holiday on Thursday. If I were around I would love to throw my hat into the ring to be on the board! Oh and board member, perhaps you can answer my questions? Those are the rules I was referring to...perhaps "rules" wasn't the right term to use. I apologize.

| Jennifer, who cares what cars are in the chase for the chamionship. ALL DRIVERS, deserve this, they are the ones that work on the cars 7 nights a week. The rules that Bern is going by is done by every track, including NASCAR. I know that this is not NASCAR. It seems that the only problem you have with this is that your driver/car has more competition, which in return makes racing more enjoyable. Get over it, whats done is done and enjoy the rest of the season.

| To Fan in the Stands,
I guess it don't matter how nice or professional you try to be on these message boards...I absolutely agree with you - all drivers deserve the race for the championship...I have never questioned that - it would be more exciting! My point is that it should have been set up that way from the beginning...not changed on the last day of point accumulation.
Please, you don't have to explain to me that the drivers work hard...I lose my boyfriend for about 6 months out of the year, I support him 100%, and I give up stuff too just so he can race! Ask anybody who has a spouse who races and I'm sure they will agree. AND ONE MORE THING...we just go to the races to have fun (see my initial message to explain this).
You have definitely read me the wrong way, Fan in the stands.

| To the Board Member!!{If you are one} Sorry I never quoted the proper terminology for you from the 2005 rules!!In my book that I had given to me from the Start of Avondale in 2002. The words are in a much easier way to understand{you don't need a Law degree}the rules could be changed by the track{NSCA} what's the difference? Either way the final say to what happens is approved by 1 person! Do you understand that Board Member? one person has the Power of the Pen!Ps I will bring my Rule Book and let you see it, oh by the way who are you so I can give it to you.See you all at the meeting if ye go!!

| The 80% eligibility for Awards rule has always been there. The top 5 was added this year probably to cover people who place in the Top 5 but don't meet the 80% eligibility. Good questions but tainted a little by your use of"- don't talk in circles, you are making up rules, Why aren't you checkin etc. Lets hope at tonights the answers are as good as you questions.
