| Motocross Newfoundland & Labrador have decided to comment on several of the postings on this message board. The type of slander and profanity should be monitored by the forum administrators in the future. The Motocross association hold its own forum with strict guidelines, preventing unnecessary rants from young or adolescent suscribers who dont understand possible implications of making generalized statements. To this end, the postings regarding quality of track on Bell Island vs Avondale etc. have many of the motocross riders upset. Firstly, to the 'fan' who claims to 'know all ' with regard to racing on the mainland vs here in NL...you are completely wrong in all of your postings. You have commented on your strong 'ties' to pro riders such as Mitch , Ryan and more...quite frankly, these guys are personal friends...who do you think you're kiddin! Secondly, of all the injuries you list...such as my own 'broken arm'...again, you are so incorrect. Firstly, I didnt break an arm, secondly, it wasnt on Bell Island??
The discussion board then turns to a topic near and dear to many of us involved in motocross....the loss of our friend Brian. Because you now have a track of sorts in Avondale, it is NOT Brian House's track...Brian and others..namely Andrew Smallwood and more designed this track in my house during a long winter meeting three years ago...so again, you know nothing about the things you comment on.
Finally, with regard to running of an association, money involved etc. Our suggestion to you, contact our lawyers - McKelvy Stirling and Associates. and discuss finances with them. This is a non for profit Association which has given Bell Island Charities over $12,000 in the last 4 years! In, fact, the Mayor of Bell Island is currently talking to the media to run a piece highlighting such a large contribution. MNL are not in the business of making money from this racing...our money goes directly into the track...which, according to the Pro riders in NL is evident. "One of the best tracks in Atlantic Canada " quoting Mitch Cooke...but of course you know that...since you are such 'buddies' with Mitch and others!
So our policy has generall to not get involved with the type of juvenile arrogance displayed on forums such as this. You can be assured we wont again. Avondale was somewhat of a test for MNL this year. It was a pilot to see if people would race in Avondale, or if fans would come to see racing. Needless to say, the riders have spoken. The track is not at a safe level to ride. The design is not condusive to racing in such a small area. Fans have shown us, they are not intersested in Avondale...some have commented that it's just a side show for car racing....well with the hundreds of riders on Bell Island this year Motocross has become too big to play second fiddle to car racing. We applaud Bern and his crew for making efforts to see whether or not it would work...this year....it did not. Is that to say Motocross wont happen on this side of conception bay. Absolutely not. We have many people approaching us regularly to 'build a track' offering us land etc. The bottom line, Bell Island will not go away. The riders, the fans, and the community of Bell Island love Motocross. For that reason it will always be the premiere track for racing.
These are the 'FACTS'...readers will no doubt hear all kinds of silly rebuttle, but remember, most of the postings to date on this inappropriate forum are inaccurate and generally childish.

| if you say your policy in general is not to get involved, then why would you say what these so called others have said to you about avondale! and then say good luck to bern! are you happy with yourself, trying to use others opinions instead of stating your own! if you are in a so called supportive state with the avondale tracks success, then why haven,t you shown yourself at any of the races, sure you were there mayby once, but i myself have also heard your comments and lack of support towards them! for a smart man Mark, you sure don,t know how to keep your stories straight! i,m not dis-agreeing with your remarks towards where the money goes, or what has been given to whom, i,m very happy to see that, but i,m very dis-appointed in your lack of common sense in realising the benifits of two tracks and giving your support to them as a president of the nl association should have!

You shoot off your face about safety levels at Bell Island Vs Avondale. I have been at both Tracks and the record speaks for itself there has been more injuries at the Bell Island Track this year than at all other Tracks in Nfld combined.
You fail to disclose that you have a vested financial interest in the Bell Island Track.
Do the right thing if this is a true "non for profit" organization show us a Financial Statement.

| I was there and helped Brian House layout the Avondale Motocross. Brian House told us where to place the painted red flat rocks. Yes Andrew Smallwood helped but he was just a follower like myself. Brian House was the man!

| Avondale is a great track to ride! It's a Technical Track requiring skill! It's safe Track because if a rider is down the approaching rider is able to see. The problem I have with the Bell Island track is if a rider is down the approaching rider is unable to see the fallen rider! This is what happened with Brian House at Riverglade...the oncoming rider couldn't see Brian the down rider and he was hit with the front wheel of the appproaching bike and killed.
Brian didn't like the monster jumps and none were in his design for Avondale. The monster jumps were added to the Bell island track after his death! This season too many riders have been injured on Bell Island.

| well ...it aint moto cross if ther is not jumps and only reason avondale is techenical is because u got to doge rocks and holes and car tires ..the place sucks..and the blind jumps ...tha is why they have flag men at bell island not some guy smokin with a towel in his hand..and if avondale was fit to ride dont u think u would have more bikes....

| why can,t you people from bell islands track stop your bickering about avondales track? it was made in mid season, it is still in it,s infancy stages and growing every week! if you don,t want to race there, then just don,t! shutup about it and get on with yer own shit, and stop bashing the hard efforts of so many others! there are still alot of others here that appreciate their efforts and can actually see the differences in the track from before, and to make a statement about someone holding a towel and smoking, what an asinine remark that was! the facts are that if i weant to race in avondale, i don,t have to wait for a boat for 2 to 3 hours to get there or to leave there either, and i don,t have the expenses to incurr going to avondale as i do with bell island either! but it,s still needing alot of work as we all know, and most of us are willing to help and wait for that time to come, unlike yourself, we actually stick to our committments of promising to help!

| eveyone needs to stop this,who cares what track is better,remember also that this is the first year for avondale and the track design was flawed majorly.i told burn that the track needs a totally diffrent design and better organization to have a sucessful racing season.
Hopefully next year the design will be changed
to a simple track that everyone can ride.

| every one talks big behind the computer screen with there fake names, perm is probly the most knowledgeable dirt biker in nfld. and mark im suprised with ur antics man bell island is a good track now but when it started it was rough and if i wasent for the help of lots of great people and many many changes it would be no were.every thing takes time. avandale could be a great track with time and knowledge, And i dont know what people on the site are gettin on with. me and perm spent weeks workin on that track and landing in avandale.and all people do is bitch so if u dont like it do something about it, we bult a landings at sledwars,2 in gander,bult a track in gander and have buld more dirt wood and steel jumps than any one i know of,and when people like mr x get brave enough to get out from behind there computer and stop being bitches, insted of causin shit u should go work on a track,or do some thing productive with your time.

| i think that nobody on this topic of motorcross knows what they are talking about,i think that you all are a bunch of babies.as far as mnl goes anybody that has anyting bad to say about this group are a bunch of winers that don't know what it is like to be part of a well ran group.right now mnl has one of the best best tracks in atlantic canada,as per mitch cook and johnnie montes two of the top pro rider in canada,that i know very well. as for the person shutting off his mouth how he knows mitch and johnnie,its funny mitch and johnnie didn't ask about you.as far as anybody on this form that is not a part of the mnl.it's not any of your concern where the money goes belonging to mnl,if you want to know become a member and you will find out at the reading of fin.statment other then that don't worry about it.also for anybody that gets on this topic about how bell island is not a safe track,and said that the tracks on the mainland don't have the jumps that bell island has just goes to show you babies don't know again that you don't know what you are talking about.from now on anytime anyone wants to get on any form talking about mnl,have you facts right before you mouth off and waste you breath, you will need it some day so save it.as for people getting hurt on bell island,for the amount that races on bell island the numbers are not worth looking at.when avondale builds a real race track they will have rider downs,anybody can stay on two wheels on a two gear track.for every lap on bell island track ,it's only half lap at avondale.bell island will seperate the so called racers from the true racers.at bell island we have on any given race day 50-70 people race, that says something for bell island,as per avondale 8-10.

| Bell Island has a great track, they got the right soil, no rocks.There is always someone falling in motocross, it's just the way you fall when you get hurt.It has nothing to do with the track.And for where the moneys goes over on the Island, well that bull dozer doesn't run on air, neither does any other equipment that NML has over there.Insurance costs money every week to race there and the Ambulance isn't free either.There should be no complaining about the track conditions or where the money goes.They got the track and at every race the track is in good racing condition.Any rider that has been there can tell you that, there is nothing wrong with the Bell Island track.Keep up the good work NML, I'll be back next year too.
