The CEL got off to a wild start last night with the refs showing that they're not putting up with any crap from us. Young Minus blew his top and was sent for early clean-up. Willie carved his name in the sin-bin bench and yours truly got a rest in there as well. I also saw Big Phil rent out the booth for a stint.
I didn't see the end of the 2nd game but the green machine took advantage of the sinful ones and special teams handed the Toodle[less] crew their first loss. Rumours have it that Toodles is out on the west coast trying to ink Langdon to a deal which also includes a berth on the Michael and Meagan in the off-season. Toodles has his work cut out for him trying to keep his boys calmed down or he's gonna be in for a rough winter.
As for the refs. They come up to help us out and provide a bit of policing to the game. They do their best and do make some mistakes. What a coincidence , all of us make mistakes on the ice as well.If any of us are so perfect we're in the wrong league [try the NHL].It's absolutely disgusting to hear someone threaten violence on these kids who are doing their very best and doing us a favour. After all, the main purpose of the CEL is to give us a night out with the crowd from home and a few beer. All teams will be in the playoffs so relax a bit and have some fun. I know I will.
all for now.

Hey Wartsy,

I'm a CEL player and a first time poster.

I agree...these young fellas are doing their best. It's fair for both teams. I'd hate for someone to tell me that they were going to kill me everytime my view wasn't the same as theirs.
I'd be dead long ago!

Did JC give 'er up or what?

Rumor has it...that JC did quit. He hung up his jersey. I think the refs were a little too harsh, they should have gave him the rest of the game and thats it. I mean we all have tempers and say things that we shouldn't.

It seems as though capelin is a little upset about his off season trade from Martin Marie to the coors light squad and is already stealing from us in the standings.last nights result martin marie 4 - meagan & michael 2

If you think the refs were a little harse on him then you should be there with him, He had his chances he was told to shut up, three or four time, and then he told the ref that he would be going to the box as well, but not that one over there, harse, I think they took it easy on him, Like was said in other post, these youg kids are coming uo to help out a almost folded league, with out them I don't think you would have scraped up 50 or 55 skater to play shinny.
So I say Good job Peter and David, don't put up with no shit.
If JC getting that harse with the refs, what would he have done if the Penalty was awarded to him, and not another Player????

for those of you who werent there (ie. calprince i assume) i can tell you the event as i saw it first hand. Willie got a penalty, JC shot his mouth off...the ref fella told him twice to "be quiet" den skated away from him to the box to tell the penalty he gave. When the ref came back to drop the puck JC was still shootin shit. the refs udder buddy said be quiet or your goin to the box, JC's reply, "i'll put you in a box!" (try not to laugh my story isnt over yet)at that point whistles were blown hands were waved and through the confusion JC seemed to have been kicked out and while on his way off told da byes that he would get them after the game and that they were dead. End of story, so now ye all knows...if i left anytihng out, tell me so i can have another laugh at the stupidity of it all....kicked out for arguing a penalty that you didnt even get haha.

Good games to both teams and both refs. See ye next week bys!

Good to see the CEL back in action. Looks like JC is back in mid-seson form....thats all I'll say about that.
I also see that the Green Machine couldn't get someone to fill the old # 4, and probably never will(literally...lol)

Hey Wartsy, how'd ya like the new sweater design?...I think Tank needs more colour!

Hey Big Phil, you've still got that designer look and it would have been the talk of opening night if not for the antics of young Minus. Are you and the Tank still partners in the Fashion File industry or have you gone solo for the season?

Ya know Wartsy, I have to admit, when I saw that my partner in style had signed a deal with the white parsnips, I was flaberghasted. I mean, when I was dealt to the new upstart Coors Light team I checked the colours first, like any good Calvin Klein man would do before I inked the contract, but Tank, White, No colour, no uummpphh! I was disappointed to say the least.

I think I lost Tank the third last day of shooting in NYC when I got offered to be the new Michelin Tire Man. Tank never spoke a word except for when he wanted me to "pass the bacon" or " Hand over the gravy".

Hopefully Tank and Myself can renew our shared passion for full figured hockey players everywhere.

B'ys, anybody else think that the pace of the games were particularly fast for the first week?
I know it's early but the teams look pretty even. Kudos to the lads who picked the teams. (Although Coors Light are going to be tough when Bobby shows up!)
Looks like it's going to be a good year.
