| Jones Beach is a really nice field, completely fenced at about 300' all around...very well taken care of. Only problem (?) is that it's a 6/8:30PM start.
Brookhaven AM starts gives us the AM and fences...but us Nassau people just don't want to drive 45-60 minutes to get to fields.
Nassau AM starts are at the fields in Eastern Nassau we played in a couple years ago: Seaford HS, Cedar Creek (which is literally two blocks away from my house), Newbridge Rd., Stokes Park behind the movie theater. Fields aren't so good.
ISA is Island-Slow Pitch. AM starts. He has two Amityville fields: Amityville Beach...which has a right-field fence of 238' (thanks Google Earth) and a left field fence of 280'-ish. Amityville HS looks like a dump. He also would give us one Town of Babylon field like Venetian or Fireman's...which are nice fields. All ABA bats are good for this league.
Right now, I'm leaning towards Jones...but this depends on the two other board members' votes.
We want to hear your opinion! Let's hear from the peasants!

| First peasants remark.
1. island is only ISA in Baseball heaven. ASA in league play.
2. Jones beach is like 285' fences, and you will have to pay for parking in the smmer am( most likely)
3. the fences at amity harbor are also like 30 feet high.
4. Wesco's A/B division plays on those fields also, or atleast they used to.
5. We also know that greg doesn't like to travel.

| Mr G,
To respond to your comments:
1. island is only ISA in Baseball heaven. ASA in league play.
according to the league, he'll run ISA rules there.
2. Jones beach is like 285' fences, and you will have to pay for parking in the smmer am( most likely)
Jones Beach is in the PM and you don't have to pay parking. I've been playing there for years!!
3. the fences at amity harbor are also like 30 feet high.
Then TK's screwed.
4. Wesco's A/B division plays on those fields also, or atleast they used to.
Wesco A/B played at Allen, Plainview Pools, Burns and Oyster Bay (which sucks) last Fall.
5. We also know that greg doesn't like to travel.
I'm fine with the travelling. It's the wife.

| For what it's worth, I would much rather drive out of my way and play on a nice field. So I'm casting my vote for Jones Beach. I'm not crazy about the late starts, but like I said, I would rather go out of my way, being I only play once a week, and play on a nice field, then to play on those weak ass Nassau fields we played on two years ago. Anyway, whatever the majority wants is cool.

| Hail Hitler!!!!! One question about the Jones beach League. Are we required to wear beach attire while playing? Example, can I wear speedos and sandles while playing the outfield?

| Chris, please keep the speedos home....
Besides, if you wear the speedos, you'll get eatin alive by the masquitos.
Greg, Ive played A/B wesco at Amity in the fall. TK can hit the fences all day long and dig it out. Right field, if I remember correctly has a short fence in right.
Anyway, I don't care where we play, but certain fields may have an impact on my commitment. In other words I may not be able to play if we change to many things.
I will follow your lead, but don't know if I can go the distance depending on where and when.

| I think Jones Beach looks like the clear leader here. I've just noticed they also offer a AM Sunday at jones as well. There are some items that have to be addressed...ie. parking, permits, etc. More to come.
By the way, Jones AM would run around $152/guy and Jones PM would run about $183/guy...based on a roster of 12 and ump fees included.

| Jones Beach sounds great, but AM is the way to go. Who wants to get back from softball at 9pm on a Sunday? Plus a little less expensive. Greg, there's an extra $5 plus a copy of Jets Confidential waiting for you if you make it AM. And yes, I just bribed the GM.

| It's obvious not everyone will be happy with the direction we take. I'm a little hesitant about the Jones AM Sundays because parking/permits/tailgating may be severely affected.

| Greg, all joking aside, being that you are the active GM of the Armored Saints softball team, whatever you deem to be the best choice for the team should be enough. You're the one that has to put up with most of the bs that comes with being the GM, so you should have the final say and that's it. I'm sure not everyone will be happy with this location or that location. And maybe some players may have to find another team, but don't sweat worrying about other peoples input. Just choose a league and/or location and we will have to decide if it's good for us or not. I for one don't care what league we play in.

| Are you kidding??? I still have trouble doing the box score. Besides if I were GM, we would probably be playing in the Montauk league. I was actually considering turning over my "captain" status over to you. Your duties as captain are: A) Bring cold beer to games on Sunday. And B) Yelling at yourself and Heckman for trying to stretch a bunt single into a triple. Think you can handle it?
