| Once again the CEL regular season schedule has come to an end. The silver bullets squeaked out a win late in the game to hand the bleached ones another loss. It was a close game all the way until Hot Rod Sully got ejected for being his usual dirty self. I told him as he was going on the ice for the 3rd that he would get the heave-ho before it ended.The whites only managed 2 wins for the season which must be a record for the CEL.If there's a silver lining in that, be aware that the 1994-95 CEL champs only registered 3 wins for the year but managed to take home the coveted cup. I know because I was on that winning team and it was also the night that one of the CEL alumni [Anchor] fell on a beer bottle coming home from the festivities and almost died with a cut on his wrist.
The second game was a battle to decide 1st place for the year. With both teams having depleted benches again,all hands had turn it up. It was a hard-hitting affair as Big Gerry was throwing the weight around. Ian felt the wrath as he crossed the line admiring the new laces in his
skates only to bring up on Big Gerry's hulk. It only lasted a little while though as the Big guy also was sent to an early shower [ or scalding bath if you like]. In the end the mighty machine was too much for the rebels. As predicted by DTK before Xmas,the machine once again win the presidents tropy for 1st overall. Now one has to wonder if the mighty machine can break the CEL curse or if the bleached ones can achieve the same goal as the 94-94 champs.
