Well, the Championship Final began with a thriller last night as the Green Peas took game one in the 1st minute of overtime against the Silver Bullets.

The game began with hyped up emotion as the Peas iced a near perfect lineup with 12 skaters vs. the Bullets 8 skaters. While controversial calls ruled the night, the Bullets took a 4-2 lead into the third. All was looking well for the Bullets when they went up 5-3. But the peas had other ideas as they battled back to tie it 5-5. Then off a goal by Clubber, the Bullets took a 6-5 lead into the final 2 minutes. But then, a seemingly harmless play, based on the precedent set throughout the game, the Bullets were penalized, giving the Peas a power play. With 20.4 seconds on the clock, the peas tied it up, knocking the wind out of the Bullets. Then the Peas pulled off the comeback 25 seconds into the overtime period.

While it seems the Peas have the OT magic on their side, the Bullets

Great job last night Machine. I was elated to get the news from DTK today. Keep the pressure on the 4% for one more show.

To the Exec.
Will my name be included on the roster without playing in the playoffs ?

the penatly wasent based on the rest of the game, which thank you very much was hard enough on my own without listening to people sooking, and big phil i honestly expected more from you. the penalty was based on the fact that it was defiently a penalty, sullivan had swain tied up on the boards outside the blueline while the play was inside/coming out of the zone on the other side of the ice no where near the two. its an easy call, and the guy who got the penalty didnt complain about it. in fact it seems that the only guy whos dont complain are the ones who have actual hockey sense. yea are fucking luckey there was even one ref there last night, no one else would do it and the only reason i went up was cause i felt bad for the guys who wanted a game of hockey. dont fuckin worry guys,i wont make that mistake twice. good luck with getting refs again, and to the guys in the league who enjoy the game and dont complain about every little fuckin thing, is a shame everybody else ruined it for yea.

Now hang on a second here, dont go portrayin me as the bad guy here. While I might get excited on the ice and shout out things I dont carry a grudge for any time after I spews off...its all in the heat of the game and last night was one of the more heated games,I know I can get carried away when I'm on the ice but its just apart of me and thats all I can do about that. Also I know Im not the greatest player out there but I aint no dummy and I have hockey sense let me tell you that right now. Another thing, all season long when fellas came on here callin the refs down to the dirt I spoke up for the refs because even though I have never reffed, I have the sense to know that what ye do is no easy task. Might I add that the CEL has had very little bad words to say about the refs compared to other leagues around the shore.

Also, NOWHERE did I say anything negative about the ref or the job he did. What I was commenting on was based on the fact that there was only one ref on the ice and that some calls were being made and other weren't because of that, I guess I should try to put my words down in a more basic format. So, from now on I'll leave the summaries up to someone else to do because I have never come on here to lambast anyone, or call anyone down, its not my style and hopefully the good people of the CEL who know me realize that. So if someone has taken offence to anything I have said on the Forum this year, I apologize.

Signing Off,

BIG PHIL

P.S. Hey Wartsy, I thought what we had going here was a good thing but I guess an end must come to everything. Good luck with the postin and If your name ain't on the roster then its a sad day for all Gatchers!

No need to worry about my name on the roster now Big Phil, I came in from the rig last night for todays game.I've always referred to Toodles as the greatest GM to ever grace the CEL, but how about Gary Sullivan. With still a week left to my hitch, I had given up on playing either playoff game. However, yesterday at 2:00pm, I got a call from the radio room on the rig . They told me that I was heading for home to compete in the CEL championship. Now tell me that Gary can't pull the strings. Anyway, lookin' forward to skating with the big Maghine tonight.Win or lose, it's great to be going to the show.
Big Phil, I feel for ya. You've kept the site alive for the past couple of years and I don't think that you take anything off the ice. The refs gotta realize that it gets more competetive this time of year and players are a bit more tense. Maybe you frightened the little guy . Also , if the 4% weren't such a dirty team, they wouldn't have to worry about the refs anyway. lol
See ya on the ice

Welcome back Wartsy!!!
A word of advice...fasten your seatbelt and hold on tight 'cause the Machine is rumbling down the playoff track at breakneck speed!

Big Phil...you can't let the uninformed opinion of one official end your sports journalism dream. Although I think he done an admirable job with the whistle the other night, I do feel he overreacted with his post. We all know the difference.

Mr. Brinston...you can't take this stuff to heart man. Most of us are pretty quick-tempered on the ice but once we go through those gates all is forgotten...well probably not forgotten but it's definitely forgiven! Any banter on here is all in good fun. And besides, if you can't take a little criticism or flak, then refereeing shouldn't be one of your hobbies. I'm sure you take as much or more shit in the DSHL. It's the nature of the job. Also, why even come onto the site when you know that nobody ever praises a referee?
