| In a barn-burning affair last night, the green machine took home one of the most coveted trophies on the shore.The 4% opened up a 5-1 lead in the 1st period but the machine chipped away to even the score before the end of the 2nd.
The 4% took the early lead in the 3rd but the book still wasn't written. The red one was awarded a penalty shot and took advantage to even things up again. As a matter of fact, he put on a brutal figure-skating move after the goal. That set the stage for player coach DTK who buried one to take the machine to the championship. It was a hard-fought contest right to the bitter end but the frape kept his composure and only allowed 1 goal in the last 2 periods. Hats off to Hrvey who also played well but the jitters must have set in and the goal scoring dried up. Harvey did his part but the 4% couldn't muster up enough offence and spent too much time in the sinbin to help him. After all, they were up against a superior squad.lol.
The 4% put up a good fight and showed good sportsmanship throughout the whole ordeal as the Calvert crowd always do. Once again though, Big Phil and the JBL line had to watch as the championship pics were taken without them.
DTK informed me that it was he who pulled the strings to get me off the rig and my sole job was to control Big Phil. Mission accomplished.I think that the all the fans were expecting a tilt between myself and Big Phil but the game was too close for such antics.
In closing I'd like to thank the CEL and its executive for another funfilled winter with Tuesday nights out.Again the show was run with class and much appreciated. Also , thanks to the refs who gave up their time to provide a bit of policing to the game. Your efforts didn't go unnoticed.
As for the CEL curse ,it has been broken and is now only a conversation piece. The 1st place team showed why they were 1st by bringing home the Dominion Cup.
