| WEEK 2 RECAP: Green pitches SHUTOUT, Red bounces back and Gold Stifles Black! Game 1: Green 21, Blue 0 Green was heavy favored in this one vs. a depleted Blue without 4 players. They started out driving down to 10 yd. line when Russ Smith found Tony Atisha on a quick slant. Blue drove down to red zone after great catches from newly acquired Nick "the mohawk" Hermiz but failed to punch it in. After a few completed passes Russ Smith used his nimble feet and side arm delivery to find Karl Dallou from 7 yds. out. Blue drove down once again to the 10 yd. line but did not score. Later on Blue found themselves in scoring positon once again and failed to cash it in. Russ calmly drove down in the 4th quarter to hit Atisha once again on a patented fade route from 30 yds. Tony had a great game all around and Russ looked like his old self giving Green a 2-0 start to the CFL season. Blue should have all its players in week 3 and looks to bounce back with their first win. Game 2: Red 20, White 13 Red loaded on paper needed this one after a week 1 upset. Red QB Tarik Kama used his legs more this game which translated into 2 first half TD'S to Red coach Anthony Toma. Kama also caught a TD from rookie Mike Toma, when he took an end around and threw a dime to Tarik down the left sideline from 50 yds. Anthony Toma used his veteran ability to get open in the end zone on scoring strikes from 10 and 15 yds. out. Red used its strong rush of Scotty George, Brian Najor and Ray Dawood to slow down White QB Joey Jonna. Jonna looked off balance all game and avoided a second straight shutout by connecting with Randy Narra later in 2nd half. A Great catch from rooke J.P. (50 yds.) set up a scoring TD from Jonna to Narra. Rookie Mike Toma played solid and racked up some fantasy value by throwing a TD and also picking off Jonna. Red moves to 1-1 while White falls 0-2. White heads into week 3 with a must win while Red tries to put all its pieces together for a strong season. Game 3: Gold 27, Black 6 Black wasted no time to try and get on the scoreboard. Roy missed on 3 consecutive BOMBS which hit black receivers on stride but they failed to come down with the ball. After turning the ball over Nate "cat" Karrumi used his legs and scored on a 40 yd. run to make the score 7-0. Roy tried to answer back and was picked off by rookie Anthony Acho. Nate drove down and rewarded Acho on a 10 yd. TD which made the score 14-0. Roy under heavy rush threw one up and served another INT to older brother and rookie Tim Acho. Gold drove down and Nathen found Nick Ammori from 10 yds. out. Gold converted on extra point with Ant Acho making the score 21-0. Black later drove found themselves in red zone and Roy hit rookie standout Stefan Kallabat from 10 yds. to put Black on the board. On the next play from scrimmage Nate pulled a Mike Vick except he wasnt beating dogs he was beating Black and scored on a 80 yd. TD run to put the game out of reach. Nate also added an INT to give GOLDS Defense 3 in the game. Gold looks solid at 2-0 while Black looks to bounce back. stay tuned for week 3 as playoff implications are at stake with Blue and White...
