Great job Birds. What a season. 10 months in the making. I want to thank the Stapper, our director of player personel for helping me put this great group of guys together. Also I want to thank Ryan Harris for helping lock up the Mudcat guys. From our first practice in January I knew we had the personel to make a championship run our first year. We added some key guys half way thru the season, who were the missing pieces. This has been one of the best seasons for me in my 14 yr adult baseball career. The transition from player to player-coach was only a smooth transition due to a great team and ever greater team-mates. Thanks everyone for having faith in my coaching decisions all year, and playing for one common goal. A Championship baby.

Excellent job Redbirds, and an extra special SHOUT-OUT to Manna who (even though he won't admit it) has been waiting for Championship for a loooong azz time. Ironic he does it with the Redbirds, his former nemesis, but all in all still pretty sweet. 17-3 & 14-3 is just incredible. Again, nice job, much deserved!

Harris where is my mail?

Thanks Hamelin. You are right. Cant beat em, join em. Finally!!!!!!! Now I may just really give it up.

Great job on defense and we sure hit the ball well. Tony pitched good. Nix had his slider working and the Dodgers were guessing. It may take 6 months for my arm to fell better but I will take it. The beer never tasted better last night.

Dodgers kept their cool and showed some class. Except one....have another wrist band.

Ya Ya....With the team fund next year we are going to get Manna a red belt and a pair of wristbands for that certian individual that says "Sit down chump" on one and "0-15 on steal attempts" on the other...NICE PITCH!!!

Great Job Redbirds. Way to go out there and make a statement to the Dodgers. Looks like our scouting report worked to perfection. I heard the Running-Birds were 15 for 15 on steals. Speed kills. I went on their site, and the stats from the games on Sunday compared to on our site are way off, SHOCKER.

Couldn't agree more with everything said. But more than anything else, it was a whole lot of fun playing with the guys we had on this team, win or lose. Hopefully Ben R. will be healthy to come back to the team next year and join in the fun. See you guys at the party Nix is going to thow together.

Thats the plan guys. To take our current team and add a couple guys so we can compete for a AAA Championship next year. We already got a couple good players and good guys wanting to play for us. Hopefully Ben R. will be healthy and ready to go. Can you image how many more runs we could have scored if he didn't get hurt.

Wow, the Dodgers scorekeeper and bench coach, that alledgedly played for the California Angels are talking a lot smack about us on their site. I have never seen a team that just got 10 runned in both games of a championship talk crap. I couldn't help myself and had to post something, it got me a little upset. I had to defend my team. I guess Barry should have given them boxes of tissues instead of t-shirts for going WORST TO SECOND...

wow what a couple of complete morons i would have posted to there site but after reading it i understand neither one of them have a clue about baseball at all so there was no point, and thanks for the backup nixy if i wanted to really spike the guy on puprpose he would have been out of the game but it was an accident, and as for stealing when they can tell there bush league catcher to shut his mouth maybe we would have quite stealing,, i could go on for days but we are the champs and they are not actually boss and his wife are not, as for russ, #3,the 1b,parich and most of the other guys i have a lot of respect for they played hard made no excuses and showed class

No excuses necessary. You guys beat us silly… Sorry we couldn’t give you guys more of a series.

Good luck next year, if you guys end up moving up. If not, we’ll see you next year for some epic battles (then again, that’s what I thought the CS would be…)

BTW, don’t sweat Fulkerson (aka NICE PITCH!). For what it’s worth, it’s genuinely not an attempt to distract the batter. Like Nate said, he’s just an intense guy.

Wow, its getting knee deep in BS over on the other message board. Their scorekeeper has lost her mind. One of theie players, posted something that summed everything up well. Much respect PG3. We were the better team that day, and I thought the PLAYERS on both teams handled things with class. Its funny how two individuals who weren't on the scorecard keep stirring things up.

PG3, good luck to you guys too. I told this to Bob before the games started, that no matter what you guys had a remarkable season to come from where you did. And you should be proud of that. I know Russ pretty well, he is a hell of a competitor. He played for us a couple years ago in the Roseville league, he will give you all he's got. Don't know any of your other guys really but the all battled hard on Sunday, I know most of them played all 18 innings. That can wear you down, especially in a CS. Yeah your catcher is an intense guy and you love a guy like that when he is on your team, but when he is on the opposite side, you might have a different opinion. I don't see how he has that much energy.

WEll Fellas I am not going to condone anything that is said on the dodger message board, you guys put a hurtin on us in all facets of the game. Nix I have no problem with the way Sundays game went, I thought it was a great game between the two best teams all year long, I hope to see you guys again and maybe we can fair better. Now lets all the crap talkin go just try get healthy for next year, I know I need it after 174 pitches. Have a great offseason fellas I know I got my 2week snow board trip planned for January already (anyone want to come Pm me on the Sac naba site).

Russ, way to gut it out on Sunday, pitch a 174 pitches in game one and then play short the next game. Same with Colin. Not easy to do. My arm is still sore from throwing like 60 pitches. Have a good off-season bro. Much respect to the Dodger players. They played hard and never quit, and played the game like it is supposed to be played.

Players always respect battlers, and that's what you did Sunday Russ. Congrats on a great year and hope you have a good time snowboarding. I don't think I'll ever get that time back reading all that crap on the other site. Thanks Russ for being above that.
