| Well boys,I guess it’s back to da keyboard to try and put some life back in the CEL. As for last night, the Green Machine ended their losing streak with a come-from-behind victory over the Silver Bullets. The Frape put on a stellar performance once again and shut the door late in the 3rd to allow DTK to bury an empty netter for the win. Bobby was in fine form and showed no ill effects from the turkey and beverages over the holidays as he was flying around the ice. He did however encounter the blade of a stick in the face but it only made him faster. So I guess that the performance of the Machine saddened the faces of some CELers but it certainly put a smile on mine. I didn’t stick around for all of the 2nd game but as I walked out the door,I noticed that the warning by the Commishioner to the Machine , to not eat too much turkey over the holidays, was not conveyed to his own squad. The Rebels seemed to be having their way with the Lightning at least for the 1st half of the game. Maybe Big Phil can enlighten us as to how that game ended.

| Well boys, Happy New Year to all the fellow gatchers out there! In case some did not already know, this is the year of Calvert, Two thousand and 'Eate"!
Well, first I'd just like to point out that I took a hiatus over the holidays form posting on our beloved forum, mainly due to cold fingers from a rather cool draft comin' from the porch. But mostly because I just didn't want to!!
Unforunately, The Lightning were misinformed about the Alcohol/Turkey consumption ratio. We were led to believe that the alcohol would be an excellent source of fuel, similar to rocket fuel and that eating more turkey would give us wings. However, Tuesday night we discovered that alcohol dehydrates the body and that Turkeys don't fly. Instead of Lightning, we came out more like the White Pudding ya can get at Sobey's, big logs of mush, that gets fried up for a good feed. The Rebels won the game 7-2, however, the Lightning were not disenheartened, because we know we didn't play up to par. There might even be a few gravy stains on the ice again next week, but don't fret because Lightning will strike once again!
Here's hoping that we don't get irate, and that the forum will be a source of great debate in Two thousand and "Eate"!
Once Again,
Big Phil
