The big Machine was at it again last night and put an end to the winning streak of the Rebels. It was a pretty even game until the 3rd period ,when it seemed like the Rebels gave up after the Machine scored their 5th goal. Lukey was called upon often and made some spectacular stops or the score would have been a lot worse. So it looks like the Machine is firing on all cylinders once again as the W-column hits double digits. Even yours-truly had a snipe from the point last night. It took so long for the puck to reach the net from my stick that I think Lukey fell asleep.
Also last night, the Bullets seem to be in fine form as they were taking it to the turkey-filled Lightning when I left the rink.I’m not sure as to the final score but I’m guessing that the Bullets held on for the win.
That’s a pretty good streak that the Lightning are on now. I guess they scored so many goals around the kitchen table over the holidays that the goal scoring has dried up.
Anyway gatchers, I’m sure that Big Phil will be on with some interesting and witty remarks to give us a laugh and enlighten us as to the outcome of the 2nd game. Until then, peace-out.

Well Wartsy b'y, unfortunately the Lightning were defeated 9-5 by the Silver Bullets( i'm sure the majority of the CEL were glad to see as it seems we are the most hated for reasons of pettiness and envy!)
With regards to all our goals being scored at the kitchen table, we might have taken a lot of shots over the holidays, but they were not of the hockey related kind. As can be seen in the stats, we are not an offensive team and rely on a full defensive team effort to win and Tuesday night after the first period we were more like two positive poles of magnets where the forward and defense positions were being repelled from one another.
Now, with all that being said, As was evident at the beginning of the season, it takes a little while for the Thunderstorm clouds to gather, but once gathered, Lightning strikes hard and often. So, there is now Lightning Storm Warning in effect for all CELers! Unlike the infamous saying, "Lightning nevers strikes the same place twice" The Lightning Bolt known as the Trough will be back again!

Hmmmmm.....this Phil guy seems pretty down on himself and his team. Does this mean that there are some problems in the lightning dressing room? I think so. It was pretty obvious Tuesday night during the third period especially, as the whole bench turned on one another and almost ended up in fisticuffs....I thought J.C. was supposed to be a kind forgiving man. But lets not dwell on team disputes here, we should give credit where credit is due. The coors light struggled in the first period and a half but pulled together and exploded in the second half of the game pull out the W. This feat was accomplished by playing as a team (and drinking 8 glasses of gravy a day). I tell you there is a great sense of camaraderie in that dressing room!!! Maybe that's what the "White Lightning" are missing.

It seems to me that the Lightning have been stuck by one of their own bolts and has crippled the team. I think that the boys need to get away on a weekend team retreat and settle things down before their own thunderstorm runs them over , or picks them up and sends them to the golf course early in the season. Also, the Lightning had better get their s%#t together before they face the dominating Machine on Tuesday night or they may just get pummelled.

Well its good to see some chatter! Homer knows how much I like it when everbody is ssshhhed!
What some members of the CEL witnessed Tuesday night was the beginning of intense thunderstorm brewing. During the early stages of the process, internal energy must be released before the furoious WRATH of the lightning is unleashed on the targets below. Wartsy and his pod of peas as well as the rest of the CEL should be very careful in the upcoming weeks as the Thunderstorm known as White Lightning is about to strike. I felt it was my duty as a fellow gatcher to warn you and help you in case of emergency. So I found a site that should be very beneficial in protecting your well being The site is:
http://www.fema.gov/hazard/thunderstorm/th_during.shtm (I particularly like the last one)
It should be noted that these are useless during a hurricane and word has it that the White Lightning is being upgraded to Hurricane Zeus.

Good Luck and God be with you all!

That's all fine and dandy there big guy, but how do you plan to bring an end to the civil war brewing on your bench. Maybe u guys should get together and by the DVD packs from Oprah and Dr.Phil [ not Big Phil] and sit on the Commish's couch for the weekend drinking green tea and sucking on peppermint knobs. Then have a group hug before you are taken down by the Big Machine!!!!!!

Warsty, thanks for the suggestion, but I was already in contact with my uncle, Dr. Phil and he said that he was busy working on a new segment for the Oprah show dealing with people who have let moderate success become a lauching pad for an ego fueled mission to the highest level of Arrogance. (I gave him your email address for consultation)
I once again did some research and find that, " Peas are planted from early March to mid-June and harvested from the first week in June to the end of August, depending on location within the state. This staggered planting is necessary because peas mature rapidly, especially in hot weather, and must be harvested quickly once the desired point of maturity is reached. Starch content increases (and sugar content decreases) as the peas mature, and this reduces the quality of the peas".
So now it should be clear why the peas have jumped out to a fast start, and why they will be reduced to peas pudding when the Heat from the Lightning hits the pod.

Well said Big Phil.
Just beware that a lightning storm has only one powerful burst and you guys had that before you filled up on turkey. So the best of the Lightning's season may very well be over. Maybe we could change your team's name to the "RAINBOW".

Well Alan b'y, I think your bag of wittiness is leaking all the way out to the Outer ring because I could see that one coming a mile away!
Has the success of the mighty machine swelled yer heads so much that it has pinched the section of the brain that controls yer creative process???
