| This years Mayors Trophy showing for Colonia is our best ever. The teams that did not make it to the championship round played in some of the best basketball games I have ever had the pleasure to witness. One and 2 point loses by our 5th grade boys and our 7/8th grade girls respectively, were heartbreakers but everyone on all teams gave 110%. Way to represent kids.....
Moving forward, this Sunday is all of the championship games. At 9AM we have our 4th grade boys getting their second chance against the very strong Woodbridge team whom they faced in the first round. At 10AM, our 10U girls will also be meeting Woodbridge in the final. At 1PM, it's the 12U girls meeting Woodbridge which I think is going to be the one game to NOT miss and then at 4PM is the second game that should be a douzy. Colonia's 8th grade boys will face the 8th grade team from the township powerhouse, Woodbridge. All in all, it will be a proud day, win or lose, for the Colonia basketball program.
Please come out to Avenel Middle School on Woodbine Ave. in Avenel this Sunday and show your Colonia pride. GO BLUE !!!
