| first of all i dont make the rules. the thing is if he races and does okay whos to say somebody wont want there 10 year old kid racing. there 8 year old. there talented 6 year old. maybe he does have talent and can drive far beyond his 12 years. but for every gifted 12 year old there are about a dozen 12 year olds who wouldnt be near mature enough and who would be in way over there heads. the line has to be drawn somewhere.

| kid i bet u cant drive beter than me..id like to slap u for saying that. haha its not what u think it is.. and drivers on the track that dont know how to drive is even more dangerous to have out there than the aggressive drivers out there..

| if you let him race and he gets hurt by another driver in a wreck.how do you thunk that driver will feel knowing he hurt a 12 year old child.all the same though didnt adam bishop and shane petten race in there early teens.

| yes jeff gordon was racing at that age....against other kids his age. actually gordon was racing at about 4 years old against other 4 year olds. he wasnt racing against adults at 12.

| yes he was at 12 years old his family moved to pittsberg indinapolas so he could race sprint cars against other adult to get better. And all the adults racing arent going anywhere if we get a talented kid racing h might end up in the canadian tire series or better. that would be sick

| if this 12 year old has aspirations of racing pro avondale speedway is not the place to try and get a start on a career.maybe he should move up to ont or la belle province for better competition better racing and better tracks maybe even go to some of the racing schools up there.racing at avondale would be a waste of his time its just hobby racing.some of the drivers would just take him out and beat up his cars for fun anyway.

| I agree totally with the second-last post. Avondale speedway is not the place to race for a really talented young driver to advance their career. If Adam has pro racing asparations move to Quebec or Ontario where there are plenty of speedways. There are many go-cart tracks that race in Ontario. Also Ontario is in close proximety to New York state where there are plenty more. Also if the family feels so inclined they can even move to the states where there are plenty more racing options. His racing dreams would go absolutely nowhere at Avondale racing against a bunch of red-neck weekend warriors racing junk who would like nothing better than to take out a 12 year old simply because he's better than them and has a future in racing and they don't.

| if they can get enough interest why not have a division for drivers under the age of 17 including girls and boys.they dont have to run every week.every second week would be fine.if you want the racing to survive you have to introduce it to younger participants.the more racers interested the better the survival rate for avondale speedway.just my thinking.

| excellent comments from reider. some speedways have their own go cart tracks. it would not too expensive to make one right on the avondale grounds. what a great way for kids to get their start in racing at a very young age. that way by the time they get to the age they can race cars it isnt such a big step especially at avondale where there not real high tech machines. start in the 4s at about 14 or so and work their way up in class. i do feel that 12 is a little young but if kids race go carts starting at about 7 or 8 theres no reason they cant be racing a 4 by the time there 14. 14 is still young but at least they will have some racing experience by then. Even then it would not hurt to make them pass some kind of test to be able to race until they are 16 or whatever the minimum age is.

| if theres no money to be made from it the owner will have nothing to do with it.with kids racing you will have to deal with there parents and sometimes that can be worst than dealing with the kids themselves if little johnny cant win and they think he is not be treated fair.

| if the rumour is true that may actually happen if the so called person who is rumoured to buy it actually buys the track.hopefully not.if they want to put in an r.v. park maybe they can fit both the track and r.v. park there.
