lets hope they stay with thr dirt track.converting the cars to race on pavement could get expensive.dont know how many of the drivers and teams could afford it.may keep some of the people who are thinking about racing this year second guessing if its worth it to them.wouldnt mind the dragstrip though and a upgrade to the motorcross track would be nice.may bring back more people interested in motorcross.maybe you could still let them race on the ovalto just let them run before the track is toreup by the larger cars.

just wait for a couple of weeks, sorry to dissipoint you but you will here the truth then. If bern is telling the truth ask him to put it on the Web site in writing. don't waste your money on your cars untill you get something in writing.

I like the statment " I spoke to Bern personally ".You could talk to Bern till you were blue in the face and you wouldn't know anymore then when you started.PLEASE somebody put some money into that facility and give us a track that we could be proud to race at.I give Bern credit for bringing it this far but it,s time for someone to bring it to the next level. As far as making it to expensive to be involved in,if you think this is expensive your dabbling in the wrong hobby.Put down a 1/4 or 1/3 mile of pavement,200,000 ft. of sod,up grade the pit's alot and change it from a dust bowl to a nice track and within two years you will see 20 to 30 Pro Stock cars out there every weekend!

20-30 sportsmans ( like they are running at thunder valley) if you were lucky, not prostocks. The best thing that can happen to Stock car racing on this island is pave avondale, and run a seris between the two paved tracks. Alternate tracks every second weekend. Now that would be a show. Compared to 5 years ago, avondale as it is now is dying a slow death. Something has to change, I personally think pavement is the answer. I have been to thunder valley a couple of times and there sportsmans are amazing, real race cars, I hear there may be 10 of them this year, 7 put on a good show.

dream on about the pavement and the fancy cars nobody is putting that kind of time and money into a hobby unless you already have lots of money and i dont think there is to many people that were involved at the track in one way or the other that has the money for that.so its dirt tracking.i do agree with the series idea involving both tracks.if my memory serves me right somebody suggested that last year for both dirt tracks.are both tracks opening out in central this year.

Not to sure about the dirt track. Rumor has it another new owner. That would be 4 different owners is as many years, usually the last sign before something is gone for good.

Pavement is alot cheaper to run on. No major tear up due to poor quality dirt track. All you need is the proper tire and a fair handling car and your all set. Pavement is the way to go!!

We have been out to the eigth mile pavement track in Hythe Alberta a few times to watch their races and it's not half as fun to watch. The excitement wasn't there, the fastest car was an automatic four door sunbird in the mini-stock class.. The super stocks were ok but just not the same as watching the cars on dirt.

As long as dirt tracks were on the Avalon they worked great and the bleachers were filled and lots of cars. When they paved them 1 year later they were closed down and the drivers were sitting home and the bleachers were empty. KEEP IT ON DIRT. Pavement is a failure.
