| Terrible job tony, I was going across the GWB to go home when he calls me at 8:45 after telling me games were cancelled and tells me to turn around. Lets just say the wife wasn't going to let that happen, let alone the gas plus 20 bucks in tolls to go back and forth again.

| Coach Freddo totally botched the big moon illusion call last night.

| In all honesty, since coach Freddo has not posted and may be off from work today -- I'll take the blame for last night's fiasco. Watching the radar and knowing that two of our guys have 45 minute drives from out East -- I didn't want them wasting a half-tank of $4.50 gas driving down to a what-looked-like a certain rainout.
I felt I had the best perception as I live literally right off Merrick Rd and the Wantagh Parkway in Wantagh and trust me when I say this -- it was CATS AND DOGS at 8pm. I would have been completely 100% soaked walking to my car. We had to make a call. I told Tony in my opinion no way we were playing. Then I called Chris and AJ out East, and Tony called others. The rain subsided 8:20-30ish. We still had a worry that for some reason the game was still on -- so we checked around and the rest you can read on the front page. Another thing is I put little faith in the rain hotlines as they typically lag behind and give the generic messages during uncertain games like yesterday.
Also, another interesting note is AJ then decided to play for Joey G at Shorefront in Patchogue at 8:30pm, after hearing from me at 8pm to hold back from coming and also warning him that the blobs were coming his way.
What happened there? Joey's team played one inning and then the CATS AND DOGS did them in.

| NEXRAD Radar clearly showed the heavY rain being north of Jones Beach. Manager must be held accountable for this potential playoff costing blunder.

| Alright, lets move on from here. Responcibility was taken and nothing we can do now. Who do we play next week and what day?

| Management takes the blame for Wed night's disaster... We were trying to be curteous and understanding, but obviously that backfired and hurt the team.
With only 6 weeks left, I think it's time to get a clear picture as to who really wants to play.. Forget about the distance crap and the cost of gas. Car pooling is an option. Most of us drove long distance in the fall.
Bottom line is, if you really want to play, you'll do what it takes to get there...
Frosties next game is Tuesday night vs. Jack Daniels. Yes, they are still in the league.
The league has also asked us to play HeadBangers next Friday as a make-up game. My feeling is that if we can get 10-11 guys, we definitely will play because there are only 6 weeks left in the season, and make-up games will be hard.
Let me know your feelings....

| Management must and has taken the blame. How come no one called me???? Do I not count. Damn it I left the recital to come down for this debacle. We win two huge games against SWM (sorry Stingola) and then this happens to screw our season up.
Nicky thanks for making the effort. Unfortunately to add to your expenses you owe me and Greg money for umps.

| My heart goes out to you Freddo!
Especially when you have wannabe meteorologists calling the weather(Kalina)!!!
My Team Blue Thunder Started the game and got rain Delayed. Just to make it perfectly clear for Greg. Aj was already playing with us. He knew that we were playing and because you "Scared the crap out of him" with your weather forecast. He left in the rain delay, not to be heard from again for the rest of the night!
That left us with a total of 9 guys and played the rest of the night in beautiful conditions.
Unfortunately, we could not win the games against a team how hit every gap in the field at will.
I agree with freddo. The ones who want to play, will find a way and take the actions to be there. Despite some exceptions. Those who follow and believe the forecasts, well, you know what I have to say about that!!!
The game is called by the "officials" not by the people who "Think" it's a cancellation.
Take it from me. I ran a league. When you call a rain out prematurely. It will cost you time and money. So,if you can delay it, then you do.
I wasn't fully informed of what happen to you guys that night, but I know what happened to us, and I can understand that it was a Freak nite!
If you even noticed, the moon and stars weren't even out!

| For the record:
The " OFFICIALS" were the first ones on the field Wed. night.
A big thank you to Brian and GK for paying up and not forcing Tony to make a special trip to my house with payment for services rendered.

| No wonder why Nicky is hiding and not letting us know about his status... He's gotta reimburse GK and Brian for ump fees!!!
I sense a request for team league fees coming from our favorite CFO for those who are not fully paid yet...
Please stay tuned..
