| contraversy is good.gives us something to talk about.i got something to talk about what were the habs trying to do last night they looked liked a bunch of goof balls running around the ice.the leafs made them look bad. the leafs suppose to be cellar dweller this year.they must be reading all the press they have been getting about being a shoe in to be the east team in the final.if they keep playing like that they will be hard pressed to make the playoofs.i mean playoffs.the teams like boston and buffalo are better this year wont be no easy points you better showup with the lunch pail because they will have to work hard to beat them.should be an interesting season.

| Yeah, the Habs sure made the Leafs look good, didn't they? Geez Reider, they've lost 2 games in regulation and you're ready to right them off! You better worry about your Sabres, losing to the Thrashers, albeit in a shootout, but still! Maybe some fans and media think that the Habs have a good shot to win the east, which I don't think it's unfair to say that, just like I don't think it's unfair to say the Sabres have a shot as well! But remember, never once have I said the Habs are shoe-ins to win the east or anything else! Remember just two short seasons ago everyone was going to forget about the 06-07 season and just hand Buffalo the cup! As for the Leafs, as much as I dislike them, they also beat the defending champs and have rallied for 5 third period goals against the top team in the east, the Rangers! Montreal also beat Toronto by 5 goals in their first meeting, it's funny how you overlooked that! I wouldn't exactly say they were running around like goons, the hit by Kostopoulos was questionable, but you make it sound like Montreal is the only team to ever do something like that! Sometimes it takes a loss like that to serve as a wake up call! The thing with Toronto is that right now they're playing every game like it's game 7 of the finals, while alot of other teams are still in about second gear! What's gonna happen when these good teams put it in about fourth gear as the season goes on and the games become more important and the Leafs have no gears left? But you are right, it should be a very interesting season!

| I thought you said goons, but it was goof balls, my mistake! The Sabres have also looked like goof balls at times lately as well! You are right about teams having to show up and play hard or else they won't win! Yeah, it's only been that way for the past hundred years in every level of every sport!

| i know they beat the leafs 6-1 a couple of weeks back.i was just surprised in what they were doing out on the ice.saku driving his skate and leg into a guys head when his is down on the ice then bending down to trash talk him.and the kostiny brother acting the fool trying to play tough guy to get at another player when everyone knows he has no intention of fighting this guy or anybody for that matter.they let the grabovski guy get to them.iam sure other teams were paying attention to what they were doing maybe away to get them off there game.they may see a little bit more of this from there opponents in the future they read the papers to.

| like I said, they play one bad game and you talk like they should fold or something! I remember last year a Flyers player(the name escapes me) elbowed Kovalev and you thought it was kinda funny! Saku knees someone in the head and trash talks? So what! The team is having a bad game and is frustrated, it happens! They're not the first team to get frustrated during a bad night, and they won't be the last! I've seen many teams do that to the Habs over the years, and when it happens I understand how the oposition feels! When teams do that to Montreal, you act like it's all part of the game, you know intimidation and being tough and stuff like that! But when the Habs do it, you'd think somebody committed murder or something! Let me ask you something! How would you rather YOUR team reacted? Would you rather see them just skate away then skate off the ice with their heads down feeling sorry for themselves, or would you rather see them get their licks in? I wouldn't say anybody got to them, as the Habs were bad from the opening faceoff! Maybe Grabovski was yapping to them during warmups, or better yet, sending them trash-talking e-mails or calling them at the hotel or on their cell phones earlier in the day! Oh well, I guess I better cheer for another team now! Even though Montreal has fewer loses than anybody at this point, they lost their last game, so I guess it's all gloom and doom from here on out! If I say it's anything but gloom and doom, then that just makes me another arrogent Habs fan, right?

| Here's something else I find Kinda funny! Where were you when the Habs went unbeaten(in regulation) in their first six games, and lost only one of their first ten? Where were you when the Habs handed The Wild their first home loss, or rallied to score four in the third last Saturday in NYI? Montreal loses in Toronto and all of a sudden like magic, Reider appears, wanting to talk hockey! I know the way the fans are in Montreal, hockey is everything, like a religion! Hockey is not, however, MY religion! I cheer for the Montreal Canadiens, always have, always will! I'm not one of these people that you see that goes around gloating when they win, and I don't go into hiding when they lose! I can't control what other fans do! Win or lose, it's only a game! I will stick up for my team if someone puts the badmouth on them, but a person wouldn't be much of a fan if they didn't, as long as it doesn't go too far! Hockey has never been my motivation for posting on here, joking around and stuff is! The Habs could win the cup and I probably wouldn't even mention it if somebody didn't bring up the subject of hockey! And even then I wouldn't gloat, but just say that I'm happy they won! Just remember Reider, I'm not one of those Montreal fans that you say you deal with on a daily basis! I realize hockey is what it is - a game!

| iam not talking about them losing i know they wont win them all just the way they acted.they are not a team like that.cant remember the last time i see a circus like that maybe the broad street bullies or the big bad bruins.i know the habs are one of the top teams in the east.i would rather see my team lose or any team for that matter lose with class than put on a gong show like that.i would have said the same if it was any other team.i am not the one saying we are the best and the team with the most class and storied history quite away to remember your 100 th anniversary.great teams and player dont act like that it only gives the game a black eye in my mind(2 cells).it was hall of fame week(game) great way to show case your talent.it was a complete lack of class.questionable hit i dont beleive you think even a tiny bit that was a good hit.3 games what a joke.40 games just like simon got for whacking hollewag he never missed a shift.he ran at him from the faceoff circle he may have ended the mans career with a concussion(pcs).i got no problem with a team getting frustrated settle it man to man not like little cry babies.didnt see big georges larouque out there acting the fool and he is there equalizer when it gets tough not stupid.

| Settle down there Reider, you're gonna blow out your remaining brain cells! Gong show? They got a little frustrated! Sh*t happens! Teams have done a hell of alot worse then the events of Saturday! Yes, the hit by Kostopoulos was dirty, and he deserved the five minutes and maybe he could've got more than two games, take that up with Campbell! I got no problem with teams acting like that once in a while, not just because it's Montreal, but like I said sh*t happens! To be honest, I've felt that the past few years Montreal has been way too nice! As for big Georges, who is there on the Leafs for him to challenge? Hagman? Andropov? What are the Habs supposed to do, shy away from all the rough stuff because it's their 100th anniversary? I still can't help but feel that if the roles were reversed, you would make light of the situation and say the Leafs were just "setting a tone" for their next meeting or something like that! If Van Ryn had hit Kostopoulos(or any Hab) like that, you'd probably say he turned at the last second! I don't like to see anyone get injured, but you didn't see me on here whining about Sauer's elbow on Kostitsyn! I realize that hockey is a rough game, and sometimes players get hurt, and not always on a play that's within the rules! We can go back and forth on this forever, and you know as well as I do that there will be things happen this season that will make Saturday's events look like an afternoon at Sunday school! Who knows, maybe somebody on your Sabres will do something worse than that to a Hab! It would be worth the price of admission just to hear you trying to dance around it and trying to downplay or make light of it! The thing that would bother me if I was a Leafs fan is, why didn't someone drop the gloves with Tommy K after the hit? It's not like he shies away from that stuff! One of their players came over and pushed a bit, but look at the way the Habs reacted to the elbow on Kostitsyn! Just thought I'd mention this!

| I meant to say three games! As for what I was saying about the Leafs, I'm not being disrespectful, but you gotta know that other teams are taking notes! I know they won the game and that's the best revenge, but it won't always be that way! I don't mean just against the Habs, but other teams as well!

| reason why carey never got the lucas cup was b/c there was more cars in street class so there was more points to be won...for race fans or drivers you don't know the rules to well...
why do you think mad dog had 4 cars there? cause adam is the man and mad dog knows the rules
superstock class complained enough so bern would change it 2 points for each car so mad dog done some pillow work and brought in 4 cars cant keep up to the dog see ya next year mad dog and adam will be back

| dont take much to get u started.you dont hit anyone from behind.so if u dont have a tough team other teams shouldnt get a green light to run u out of the rink.as for if it was a sabre who did it i wouldnt condone it.mair should have been suspended for going after neal outside the dressing rooms that not part of the game.if u have a score u want to settle i dont see nothing wrong with settling it man to man within the rules thats the way the game is suppose to be played not like a bunch of sissies trying to run people who are smaller and not fighters and get at people when u have 4 refs between u and the guy you want to go after.the guy from the ducks who hit kotiny that wasnt from behind a bit high in the head.enough about the game from saturday night we will never agree when it comes to the broad street habs(i mean bullies).

| Don't be such a weenie! If you don't like seeing that kind of stuff, watch lawn bowling or something! Too many times in the past few years I've seen Montreal on the short end of that kind of stuff, so to be compared to the Broad Street Bullies is a new experience, but it's kind of nice once in a while! As for Mair and Neil, he's lucky all he did was have Mair yap at him! I'd like to see someone put Porky Pig through the glass!

| Hey Reider, I found it kinda funny what you said about the Habs playing that way on Hall of Fame weekend! Let's take a look at 3 of the 4 nominees! Let's start with Glenn Anderson! A great player no doubt, but one of the chippiest stick artists of all-time! Then there's former linesman Ray Scapinello! I'm sure he's been in the middle of situations much worse than that before, trying to break it up! Finally, the late Ed Chynoweth! Former president of the WHL, which at one time was one of the most barbaric junior league in Canada! It's still pretty chippy and dirty! So you tell me how the Habs brought shame to any of the festivities? I think in a way they were honouring the nominees!

| This is the last message I'm gonna post about Saturday night's game and anything conected to it! But I do have some very intriging comments for you Reider! Where were you last year when the Flyers were getting suspended on a daily basis? Jones nearly ended Bergeron's career on a hit from behind that was at least as bad as the one by Kostopoulos! Where were you then! Hollweg has already been suspended twice for hits from behind this season! It's kinda funny the way Reider fails to mention that and/or sweeps it under the rug! Montreal has one player suspended for a hit from behind, and all of a sudden they're all a bunch of goons! This, if I recall corectly, is the first time a Canadien has ever been suspended for a hit from behind! I recall during last season's playoffs Hatcher hit Bouillon from behind, and all you did was gloat about how the Habs didn't have anyone who could do anything about it! In fact, all the Habs did Saturday was play a style similar to the one the Flyers used in the playoffs, but I guess it's only okay if someone else uses it, it's all part of being tough and setting a tone or whatever! I know the Habs didn't win Saturday, but the Flyers didn't win game one, either! I know the Habs are a skilled skating team, but they also have some guys who can play that way as well! All you talked about after the playoffs was how the Habs weren't tough enough! Now that they are tougher, you whine and cry about that! I know the hit by Kostopoulos has nothing to do with toughness, but neither did Hatcher's, but you didn't seem to have a problem with that! But, if the Habs play that way, I forgot, they're all a bunch of goons and are bringing disgrace to the game, right? It's kind of the way it is on here with me! People can say whatever they want to me, but if I say anything at all defending myself, that makes me the instigator! Reider, I can remember comments you posted from way back, I have a real long memory! I only wish I had a dollar for every time you've contradicted yourself! A Hab-hater with two brain cells? Why do I even bother? There, I've said what I've had to say! If you want to talk hockey, take the blinders off and we'll talk hockey!
