| To all posters and respondents....I have tried to hold my tongue for as long as I could. Here goes.....
1) Travel practice time: there is a total of 10 hours per week left over after rec. 10 HOURS....5 travel teams are given 2 hours per week to practice. With exception to the newest team, the 5/6 Girls. I will let Matt explain why he did not get that and how he could have improve his practice time situation. 2) In edition to the 2 hours at CMS, every, EVERY travel team was GIVEN 3 hours at the shooting academy to use as they see fit. Not all used their alotted time. By the way the league bought that. 3) Money, it is true that Jeff Ditillo took the league over from the previous administration and the league was in fact in dire straights. Jeff was intrumental in turning this league back to the black. I know, I was there for that. 2 years later, I took over. They didnt leave bc of BS, Jeff left bc he moved. Jack did not leave, in fact stayed with his daughter until his daughter left for HS. Now we are fiscally sound and can spend money on things like uniforms and trophies and pizza parties and DJs, etc. 4) The reason the travel teams have 5 hours each is bc for the last 2+ years I have been battling the township making a bad name for myself in the process, to get mens rec out of our gym. Anyone remember that? No I didnt think so....

| There are SOOOOOOOOO many things that happen transparently that the general public is not aware of. However, if a general meeting is what people want then that is fine by me.

Sure, 4 boys travel teams, 1 girls travel team. Seems like 80-20 using my Math. How is that an equal split?

| WOW!!! REALLY? 5 teams splitting 10 hours equals 2 hours each. Each team gets an equal 1/5 or 20 percent. Need it explained further?

| Reposted response from another thread ....
Each division of the rec league gets one hour per week to play their game or practice so there is complete equality there.
In the travel program, each team is given a two-hour time slot. The exception this year was the 6th grade girls team, which was organized on short notice this year with the expectation some outside gym time would be available. That team got an hour per week and sometimes more when we split the gym with the 8th grade team.
The girls 8th grade team was given the Wednesday night slot from 8 pm to 10 pm. Since many girls come to the gym at 6pm for rec, I think some practices ended a little early because the girls are in the gym all night and have school the next day.
Boys teams practice Monday or Thursday nights in time slots ranging from 6 pm to 8 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm. They have to contend with kids running from CCD right to practice and vice versa.
As you can see, each night has its drawbacks.
Every other night of the week and all day Saturday is used by the rec program.
Where we differ from other towns is that many have mulitple facilities they can use for basketball. We have one that we squeeze every last minute out of.

Wow??? sounds like an equal split?? This all started with the inequality that boys get over girls.
Perhaps the ire should be directed to the twsp if they pulled an extra gym from the league.

| Nameless person,
If you read my post you would see that there are two girls teams that get three hours total.
That is not a gripe since I explained why that was the case in my post as well.
What the girls teams will do a better job of next year, however, is sharing gym time which will help each team maximize the gym further.
The other thing not mentioned is that most major CMS functions occur on Wednesday nights so we lose several sessions every season.
The solution there is to communicate better with the other travel coaches to see if we can share the gym on a Monday or Thursday during those weeks.
As for other township facilities, that's another matter. Towns with much smaller programs have access to more facilities. That is something that needs to be addressed, and will be, at a higher level than CYBL.

| First of all stop hiding behind a website and grow a set and put your name to it...... 2nd 4 boys teams = 8 hrs. 1 girls team = 2 hrs. Correct 5 teams, 10 hours equals 2 hours each...very good. So in your world it should read like this..... 4 boys teams split 5 hours 1 girls team gets 5 hours
OK... I hope by the time we post the date of the general meeting you will have grown up and posted your name. Im sure EVERYONE wants to know who is posting these gems. We look forward to hearing more of your wisdom.....
Matt, drop it, this person is OBVIOUSLY not interested in truth, or logic or anything else except stirring the pot....

| The Dr is seeing my brother, Lou working with this new math...the Dr likes when Lou starts looking all statistical and stuff!
Also, last time the Dr looked, there was a cafeteria in CMS that could be used to run plays and learn an offense. The Dr is wise!!!
The Dr thinks all should stop worrying about gym time, DJs, who saved what league, travel practices, and the exceptional level of math that has been displayed here and think about dedication to playing the sport. The Dr's little minion has been practicing most days outside shooting a ball during this lovely winter. Most of her teammates were doing the same and they only had 1 hour of practice a week. Maybe that's why her travel team won every game except 2 all year. Things that makes the Dr go hmmmm.
