Apparently it's been brought to my attention that the manager of the 495ers says that only "some" of our hitters are legitimate.

Too bad Freddo's not around but maybe he's logging in from Hot-Lanta.

So I ask - who isn't legitimate?

I gotta start - Joe Musalo. Only a cheater calls himself a dead pull hitter and then smacks cheater line drives the other way. Go do that with a non-composite bat.

Fellas, I have been playing aginst many of you guys before composite bats have been around, and I know that you guys can mash a ball. Me personally, am not calling anyone, or any bat tainted or a cheater.

Guys just wanna make a change for the saftey of the players involved. I know it sounds like sour grapes that we lost, but I do not care about week #2 of the softball season, personally. Only 4 teams, in the division, we are all gonna be playoff bound.

Good Luck to you guys, and we will see ya in a few weeks.

I hate to change subjects on what could potentially become a very fun thread but I guess I need to report some breaking news from last night.

I apparently received a text from the Coach all happy that he had a good day at the plate and hit the fence late in the game at Baldwin using those mush balls and non-composite bats. There were indications there that he may be in. Please stay tuned.

How the heck do other teams keep getting on our website? We need to talk to security.

Just a thought here, why did teams who are unhappy about being in a composite league even join one anyway? If they were so concerned about safety, why didn't they just join a non-composite league in the first place?

Good question oh mysterious one. It's a tough question but I guess it depends on the person. There are some who think we're lower class ballplayers with a loaded stick because we hit very well. And I think for most of the guys - they just want to remove all doubt. Many of them started playing non composite ball and find it refreshing that basics and not a HR derby are being played. Can't say I disagree.

I think some were surprised how quickly we were out their to listen to changes. Especially the brainwashed ones.

My biggest concern for our team if all are on board - bat inventory. Right now I have a total of two. Me and big pete. Mine is a 375 which needs some more swings. Pete a PST which is a good bat. Some teams probably have a bat factory because they play in those leagues.

Freddo already ripped me off as I am a non-believer in Chiropractic care but if its only about the money to buy bats that's ridiculous. Maybe our sponsor will throw us one. One freaking shot off my head and I am out of work on LTD collecting 60% of my pay. I am glad to use my brand new red legit mayhem Sunday mornings where the competition is not as good as this division. I cant hurt anyone anyway. It sounds like changing balls won't work which I think could certainly help. The Dudley 40's were dead on Sunday a few weeks ago when it was hot and during the week its much diffirent at this time of year. They fly off the bat.

We can't blame anyone for spending money and buying the best bats available for the composite league - we all do it. Although its for fun we all want to win. The Mayhems are actually a great value at 200 compared to some of the other bats which is why we have them. All these guys buy the best bats for a reason cause the ball goes faster and farther.

I am all for switching if that is the consensus but I cant make the decision for the team. Put it up for a vote but it looks like we have at least two teams on board. Someone reach out to Lamaris and see what they want to do.

I play a lot but not as much as the guys on this site. I think I can hold my own and can even strike out a guy here or there (sorry Dex). While we are not a tournament team like 495ers and Aqua we could certainly play in one and compete. I can't imagine playing in these usssa tournaments with these bats and balls at a higher level then this. I give credit to Bono, Kush and Dunden for doing it (I assume they pitch in these things and don't fly someone in.)

Anyway lets discuss these as soon as Freddo as back cause at the end of the day its his team to make the decision.

Due to the marked increase in Frosty.com and the advertisements for Dr. Troise, I officially demand exemption from paying ump fees for the remainder of the season.

Nicky i agree. Then we can have more teams that apparently hate us. And we are such nice guys. Oh well. I think its like a mafia war, sometimes you need to do something to make the peace so if its aluminum bats they want then lets just give in.

It really comes down to the fact that they are looking to be safe. They will still need to make such some moron is not tampering with them and issue an official bat list as i have no idea which bats are considered composite. I assyme a Freak 98 is composite.

As the "coach" of the 495ers, let me point out that Greg isolates one comment "you guys have some legit hitters" and ignores other comments made by me, such as:

"In fact, I think you guys should be a tournament team."

You guys are a very good team. Greg continues to try to spin other members of this division as thinking of your team as somehow "inferior" or "not a tournament team".

To BG:

1) Yes, you guys could compete in tournaments. And I think you guys SHOULD. There's a tournament this weekend - maybe the Frosties should play in it. I believe it's a 3 game guarantee so it'd be a good experience as well for you guys.
2) The ball in U-Trip tournaments is softer/mushier than the ABA ball. This reduces, although in no way eliminates, the risk that people like Bono, Kush and Dundon face. So that hopefully answers that question you had.
3) Yes, it is all about safety. All four teams in this division can smoke the ball. I think it'd be a better experience if we switched to non-composite.
4) The Freak98 is a composite, but we can easily create or find a list that everyone agrees on.

Oh, and to Nick, it is not very hard to find this site.

Regardless of if you play in the memorial day tournament, I would love to see you guys out there playing some tournaments in addition to ABA. The more quality teams out there on Saturdays, the better the tournaments are!

And yes - that is my way of saying you guys are quality!

With Freddo on vacation, should I throw in a reference to blobs or yellow disks? Or play up Dr. Troise's therapeutic skills?

I really do not care much about the bat, but I do worry about BG and Greg out there, as there is not much reaction time for those guys. However, I share Greg's concerns about the bat inventory. I haven't bought a bat in like 5 years. I am ok with anything regarding this controversy.

For the record and for our team's sake, we would have beaten the 495ers with any bat the other night. We fielded better and hit more consistently as a team. I am not taking anything away from our opponent, but I felt we played really tough against them the other night and deserved the 2 Ws we earned.

To David,

Thank you for your response. I agree we are tournament worthy but its more a combination of the fact of getting these guys to commit to a whole day is tough. We did well in AB one pitch in spring finishing in third.

I do play in tournaments here and there (old out of shape pitchers have a good shelf life). Usually play with Evil Joe of Arsenal or Blue thunder or whatever the latest name is. I actually am less fearful in those as they use the yellow balls and people have better control of their swings at that level. We all know it happens from time to time where someone accidentally hits box. I am a pitcher and I do it once in a while by accident. I know me and Bono had a few words last year and I got drilled later in the year. I get that. I know no one ever does this on purposes. Damn I got drilled last games and never said a word. Cald came over and asked if I was alright and then pitched game 2 and there was no stupid stuff. As we dont play in a lot of these tournaments our roster is generally just guys we grew up with rather than forming a team of who's who's in LI softball. I think a lot of this stuff on the site and the nut is just taken out of context as people like to ride each other and banter back and forth.

Anyway at the end its all about fun in league play and whatever is best for all I am in favor of.

Why did you not play against us. They needed your leadership in the lineup.

See you in a few weeks.
