| A capacity crowd witnessed the largest turnout of Stock Cars, Bikes and Quads ever to assemble at the Speedway. In the three hour period fans saw a record 14 varied and exciting races.
Stock Car Heat races were won by Paddy Murphy, Larry Carey, Jason Neville, Art Goodyear, Scottie Royal and Dennis Weir.
Dirt Track Bike and Quad races were won by Andrew Ashford, Bobby Dowden, and Lloyd Traverse Jr.
Stock Car Feature Races were won by Scottie Royal, Jason Neville and Cyril Robson.
The ATV Dirt Bike Shoot-out had Andrew Asford the winner.
The Canada Day Race saw the steady hands of Jimmy Jones hold off all competitors to take the win.

Next Racing Action at the Speedway is scheuled for July 12.

Avondale Speedway is a one third mile Dirt Oval located 30 minutes west of St. John`s on the Trans Canada Highway at the Avondale Access Road (Exit 34).
Stock Car Racing and Special events are featured every Sunday at 2 PM from May to October.
