This year we have a large number of nominees. In order to determine our winner of this award, it is necessary to devise a means of getting this winner within a defined period of time. The following system will explain how we are accomplishing this :

1. Once nominations are complete at 7pm on August 31, all the nominees will be divided by track affiliation. Those drivers who are participating in a Tour series (ie. Carquest Pro Stock Tour, Legends Tour, AOW tour) will be treated as if the tour they represent is one track.

2. A preliminary vote will then take place, with each track (tour) having one Winner. There will be as many preliminary ballots as necessary to accommidate all the nominated drivers. Those tracks which have no drivers nominated will be omitted from the voting.

3. This preliminary vote will last from August 31 (whenever the ballots are prepared) until September 15 at 7pm.

4. At 7pm on September 15, a final ballot will replace the preliminary ones, containing
the names of each ballot winner plus two runner-ups, who will be selected on merit
by us at the Racing Spectator.

5. This final ballot will operate until 7pm on September 30, at which time a winner will
be declared. Votes received after 7pm on September 30 will not count. The official
time will be determined by the computer clock on my computer, and all decisions in
this contest are made by us at the Racing Spectator and all decisions are final.

6. Any voter will be able to vote once on each of the preliminary ballots and will be ble
to vote only once on the final ballot. This is determined by the voters’ IP address.
Thus only one vote will be counted from each computer.

7. The trophy will be presented at Centre for Speed at the Atlantic Championships,
before the feature race of the winners’ class.

It should be noted that this contest has NO monetary prize associated with it. It is a
contest of fan support only, but past winners have found this to be a prestigious
award because it is determined by the fans.

Rule 2 says one person per Track or Tour but Maritime Legends, and Carquest Tour has two. Does anyone know why?
