Event: 3 on 3 Men’s Basketball Tournament (open to non-members)

Location: Shenandoah Country Club / 5600 Walnut Lake Road / West Bloomfield 48324

Date: Saturday, November 28, 2009

Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Participants: 96 players ages 18 and up welcome

Draft: Will take place prior to the tournament at Shenandoah

Teams: Players will be ranked by a committee consisting of Chris Jonna, Brian Najor, Anthony Acho, Derek Dickow, and Joey Jonna. Each team will have a player from three separate talent pools.

Cost: $100 per player. Checks payable to the Chaldean Federation of America (CFA)

Proceeds: Will benefit the CFA, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization for the advocacy of refugees

Food & Beverages: Will be provided for players during the tournament

Shirts: Will be made for all participants

Prizes: Trophies will be distributed to the champions and there will be a prize for the 3-point Shoot Out. There will also be a raffle for donated items.

Mission Statement of the CFA:
Advocate for settling thousands of Chaldean refugees outside Iraq to country of permanent residency and provide humanitarian relief while they are in the waiting. Provide assistance to new refugee arrivals and help detainees and asylees in their cases. Provide humanitarian relief for displaced people inside Iraq. Support advocacy issues that affect our Chaldean American Community. And Award scholarships during annual commencement ceremonies for the new Chaldean graduates.
